I’m not going to plan nearly as many starts in 2023 as I did in 2022. I’m sure I’ll start plenty but it doesn’t all have to be planned.
Here are the planned starts that are scheduled for 2023. I think I’m missing at least one, maybe two but this is what I’m remembering (and you know how remembering goes these days!)
Three Things Sampler
This is one Denise and I decided to start for either New Year’s Day or Christmas Day. I can’t remember and I’ve written Denise. I’ll update when I hear back from her. A reader sent this chart to me not long after I started stitching so I’m glad to have this one on the calendar.
Smith Sampler
A reader, sixyarns, suggested this one. We have it for a February 1 scheduled start. It’s one of the first charts I bought and I ordered a floss packet so I’m happy to start this one.
And A Forest Grew
I’ve heard from several who have ordered the chart. Do y’all want to stitch it together? Any time after March 1 works for me. I’m thinking maybe try to get one or two motifs done per week but we can all work at our own pace. Let me know a good start date and we’ll decide.
Any others I’ve talked about starting together?
I feel like in 2023 I’m going to try to finish more and start less but . . talk is cheap. 🙂

Wow! I looked at two of those three charts and they’re going to take awhile! There’s a LOT of work in all of them. I’m not sure I’d have the patience for something that involved, but I’m not the one doing them. 🙂 Have fun!!!

Right! Go big or stay home! But I guess some of us are going big AND staying home (to cross stitch!). 🙂

Wow, I am really tempted by And A Forest Grew! Such a beautiful chart but 103 colors? Still, I do love it…

Hobby Lobby has been having DMC for .53/skein. I guess that still adds up but better than .80 or .90 per skein. It took forever to get the floss tags made but I’m glad I have all that done now.

My current plan is to start/work on As a Forest Grew as part of my WIPGO board for 2023. I tried WIPGO for the first time this year and was careful not to set my goals too high. I managed to finish 9 of the 10 projects called so far this year. So that seems to be working for me. Maybe it will work out that I start it in March, but I will start it earlier if it is called.

That’s great. I started WIPGO for the first time this year and I enjoyed it but I prefer to work on projects longer and not have to put one down if I’m really enjoying it so I may or may not do it again in 2023.

Of course, I ordered it this morning, lol. I looked through my floss and actually have the majority of it already. And I ordered a fat half of the 32 ct. Smoky White linen. I never met a stitch along I didn’t like!

Glad you’ll be participating. We’re going to soon have a group of us that are regular stitch along folks.

I guess I’m a sucker for SALs….lol. I’ll probably jump in! March sounds good to me! I haven’t checked all my floss as yet and will wait until the pattern arrives. And….if I need more, going to Hobby Lobby for any reason is always a bonus! 🙂

I agree on the trips to Hobby Lobby. Glad you’ll be joining us.

Hi Judy , Plan to start on March 20th, my birthday And a Forest Grew. My first SAL.

Well, happy birthday on March 20. Maybe we’ll start a small SAL to celebrate your first SAL.

All beautiful choices! I’ve been wanting that Smith Sampler and I love Moira Blackburn! And a Forest Grew is a bit ambitious for me…I already have several big pieces to finish and I’m trying not to buy any more big ones…it all sounds like fun though!
