Almost 11 months after we ordered, the wall oven, it’s here. I haven’t used it yet but I’m pretty sure I’ll love it.
I hadn’t planned on getting a new microwave because I don’t use the microwave but now the old one looks like a dinosaur! Vince said “Now we need a new microwave!” and I said “I wasn’t planning to get a new microwave.” Then, the conversation began which was basically . . how would he live without a microwave. He swears he uses it EVERY day. Right! So, I guess we’ll be ordering a new microwave and wait almost a year for it.
If he wants a microwave, I’m not going to argue about it.
This morning I was removing the cast iron baking pans from the oven. I store them in there because they’re heavy and it’s easier to pick them up from that level than from the other oven. I know . . I don’t have to store them in the oven but I always have. All of a sudden, there were tears streaming down my face. Vince said “Are you crying?” I said “I feel bad for the oven. It still works and we’re getting rid of it . . it’s like it’s being punished and it hasn’t done anything wrong.” Vince just looked at me and was probably thinking like you’re all thinking . . she’s crazy!
The old oven is gone . . no more tears. 🙂

Someplace like Habitat for Humanity would probably love to have the appliances. It would be a blessing to pass on. Maybe no more tears for you because you’re helping someone else.

The appliance store donates that appliances that are in working order and have some life left in them but they said they rarely can get rid of a wall oven. Most places aren’t set up for those.

Yay for the new oven!! Finally!! We waited a long time before we got a microwave because I thought I’d never use one. Now I wouldn’t be without it. I think I use the defrost or reheat option the most. I don’t always think ahead when planning meals so it comes in handy for last minute decisions on what to make for dinner. Hope you don’t have to wait forever for the new one but I guess it won’t matter since you don’t use it…lol

The old one still works and believe it or not, the salesman said they have the microwave in stock at their main warehouse and it will be installed within the next two weeks.

I do see the microwave some. In our house we are building, I have double ovens (I have a cook top) Have a large pantry and put in electric outlets so the microwave can reside in there. I can still use but it does not sit on my counter and I get 2 ovens. Yay

There’s definitely no shortage of ovens here. With the new stove downstairs, that gives me two full size ovens, the wall oven and the microwave we ordered is also a convection oven so you can actually cook meals in it. I didn’t mind ordering that since it’s not just a microwave. It may get a lot of use. I’ll have the ability to cook for a crowd (but will probably never do it!).

I acutually use the microwave oven a lot, to reheat my coffee, pop popcorn, melt butter, reheat leftovers, etc. I would be lost without one. Glad you finally got your oven and its installed and looking like it will work when you are ready to use it.

No. I really hadn’t planned on getting a new microwave. I was hoping when that one quits working, we would do without but I guess not.
