While I was in Branson, I went by Cecilia’s Samplers (twice). While I was away, package that had been wandering the country seemed to all arrive at once. Very poor timing with Vince here to get them and count them.
I hesitated to post this because I really do not like watching flosstubes where the majority of the video is about things the person has bought . . and that’s pretty much what this blog post is about but (1) several have asked that I share what I bought (2) this trip to Cecilia’s was only the second time I’ve even been in a real cross stitch shop (and the first time was also Cecilia’s!) and (3) I’ve been so good this year about not buying too much. Yes, I’ve made some purchases, but nothing like I did last year and I think in 2023, I’ll do even better.
Before I get into what I added, when Nicole dropped me off today, I gave her most of the aida I have here and a few skeins of floss she needed, as well as a couple of packages of needles. She very much appreciated it.
So . . on to the purchases.
Linen:
I went into Cecilia’s thinking I would only buy linen. They have R&R, which is one I can’t find in most of the online shops. They did have a few pieces of R&R in 40 count linen but it was mostly tans and beiges and I have so much of that . . I didn’t add more but here’s some that came in the mail and some from Cecilia’s.
The top three pieces are from Tropical Stitches. The three on the bottom left are from Cecilia’s and the bottom right is an XJu Designs linen.
On the left is Seaweed by Fox & Rabbit and on the right is Saltbush by Fox & Rabbit. I have Saltbush but have it in a bag for a new project and wanted a piece in my stash. I’ve never used Seaweed but saw a chart (and of course, I cannot remember which one it was) that is coming out that was stitched on Seaweed and it was gorgoeus so I needed that!
Kit:
This is the kit from the Facebook group, Homespun Needlework (Cross Stitch and Samplers).
The chart is Elizabeth Broadhead 1833 by Fox & Rabbit. The line is 40 count Baked Clay by Fox & Rabbit. The floss was included, along with a very cute fob and custom floss tags! The floss tags have the colors for each floss printed on the back. That is SO nice!
There were some charts added also but this is getting long. I’ll include those in a post later today or maybe tomorrow.

I’m also glad you share what you get! It gives me ideas too! 🙂 There is nothing like visiting a good shop and I won’t mention where I go….lol I love seeing and feeling the linen in person and there are always other things to see too!
