Yesterday was a busy day but I knew I had to get those beds covered. Vince was going to get straw for the front beds but the farm supply store was out and said they should have more in a couple of hours. He called about 2 and they had just received their load of straw so we ran down there. It was supposed to rain at 3:00 but didn’t and I was out working til dark and Vince came out and he said “This is where you love to be, isn’t it?” Yes, no matter how tired I am, I go out to do a couple of things in the garden and I stay out there for hours.
Later last night, Vince said “It’s funny . . 40 years ago, a new dress and shoes to match made you happy. Now, all it takes is a bale of straw!”
He’s so right but if someone had told me this 40 years ago, I certainly would not have believed it. I like the me now much better than I think I would like the me from 40 years ago.

My brother brought me a big load of horse manure for my new vegetable garden and I just about cried. One of the best gifts ever! Priorities do change, don’t they??

We spent $900 on dirt last week. I didn’t even think twice about it, lol.

Isn’t is wonderful how we figure things out as we get older…turning 40 was big for me. If only my children and grandchildren would make use of all my wisdom!
