Oscar is still such a rambunctious little guy but for longer and longer every day, he sits with me.
In the evenings, he’s now spending an hour or two in my chair, then he wants to play so we get up and play for a while, then he sits with me again til bed time. It happens every day now.
I’m sorry for the unladylike position but my legs are kinda like a fence and that keeps him from cleaning off the tables on both sides of my chair. That’s how I always sit with him. The recliner in the basement is probably 4″ narrower than the recliner I used to have. The recliner upstairs is probably 6″ narrower. I may be a little wider than I used to be but we aren’t going to talk about that. Speck always sat next to me in the chair but I don’t think Oscar will ever fit in the chair with me but that’s ok . . he doesn’t know Speck sat with me.
In the last few weeks, Oscar has really learned a lot of commands and I’m so happy with our progress.

Nothing like a sweet, loving dog that wants to sit with you! In the evenings our Abbie sits between us on her soft blanket, and she rotates between us, getting pets, words of praise and looking at us adoringly. She’s always been super affectionate ever since we got her at a rescue place, and the best is when she hops into my lap to reach up and ‘hug’ (with paws on each side of my face). That’s what she did the first time we saw her. They people let her out in an enclosed paddock – I whistled and she ran full speed up to me, dropped her rear end & gazed up at me. It was love at first sight for me — and then I picked her up. She hugged me SO tight. I put her down so our dog could ‘meet’ her. They sniffed each other and then trotted off together to go sniff everything. That was it! We lost our other dog several months ago, so she’s alone with us & is the happiest we’ve ever seen her. She will be our last dog as I lose parts of my heart with each dog we’ve lost, but she’s absolutely the best dog we’ve had. Rescued dogs are the absolute best! Deb E
