Today is NOT a good day for Vince to be home when the mail arrives but, it’s raining and I don’t see him going to town in the rain. After all the days I’ve complained about him going to town almost every day, would it seem out of character for me to suggest he go to the pallet store? 🙂
It looks like a lot but it really isn’t that much – a lot of little stuff, but packages are packages in Vince’s eyes and it means I’ve been shopping more than he thinks I should be shopping.
The one package I really want has not moved in four days . . stuck in New York so, short of a miracle, it isn’t even going to arrive this week.
One package is seeds from Baker Creek for a couple of things I want to plant in the spring and didn’t already have the seeds. He can’t (or shouldn’t) complain about that, right?
One package is a small piece of linen from Luminous Fibers for the ornaments I want to stitch.
One package is little tags I ordered to use on my floss rings. There are pretty tags you can buy or maybe make but these are 50 for $5.99. They’ll work! Lately, especially when I’m working on multiple projects, I find myself getting confused with which floss ring goes with which project if they don’t get put back into the project bag. I wish I could hang all the floss rings full of floss somewhere and not have to keep them in the project bags. Also, once I’ve finished a project, I toss the floss ring into a tub and then at some point, I take all the floss off and put it back where it goes . . with the other floss of that same brand in alphabetical order. So, if I’m looking for a particular floss – Onxy maybe – and I remember I used it on Deck the Halls, and I haven’t “re-filed” all the floss, I can go back to the tub and grab the Deck the Halls floss ring and grab the Onyx floss.
One package is a kit from Country Sampler. It’s the Threads of History Club and it’s one of my favorite clubs. I couldn’t wait! I had to go search ahead on Instagram and find a picture. I can’t wait. I need more hours in my day . . or less packages . . or I need to stitch faster!
I think that final package may be something Vince ordered and I’m hoping it’s the new garden cultivator. Would that come through the USPS? I have no idea but if he gets something BIG and all my stuff is small, he probably won’t notice that I got four packages and he only got one. Anyone believe that?
Speaking of packages . . yesterday this thing arrived.
It’s for adding grommets and “other embellishments”. I thought this was something I might use often. I saw Misty from Luminous Fibers using it on the ornaments she made and I thought . . that thing looks so much easier to use than the old inexpensive hand held one that I have and it will punch holes through multi layers of fabric, foamcore, etc. I didn’t even know it was going to be delivered yesterday and Vince same in with a funny look on his face and said “What is that weird stapler you ordered?” Stapler? Then I remembered. I said “Oh, that’s for installing grommets!” Enough said. I’m sure he wanted to say more but didn’t. You have to have the right tools for the job, right?

I have had one of those for years. Have used it for so very many projects. Some that were not even craft related. They really do come in handy. And yes so much easier than the Dritz ones from years ago.

That’s what I was thinking and when I’m done with it, I think Nicole and Addie would use it.

I also put little tags similar to those on the zipper pulls of my project bags to identify the project inside.

I hadn’t thought about that. Thanks for the idea.
