He’s hardly a puppy any more. He acts like a puppy – still chewing, still looking for anything he isn’t supposed to have and grabbing it and running with it. I understand not everyone is a dog lover; not everyone wants a dog inside their home but Oscar has truly made our lives better. I asked Vince if he thought Oscar had made our lives better. He said “YES! He’s such a fun little dog.”
Every night he climbs up in my chair with me but only for two or three minutes.
I can’t wait til he’ll sit with me for hours!
I think he’s the cutest little guy. I can share photos but I wish y’all could be around him and see his funny personality.
Speaking of cute pups, the lady who cuts my hair has a chihuahua. He’s older but he’s a tiny little thing. Her shop is in a room attached to her home and the other day when I was there, Peanut came to the door. I barely got a glimpse of him so she called him in. I was saying how cute he was and she said “Smile, Peanut!” He raised his upper lip like he was showing his teeth at a potential victim. That was his smile and it was so cute. I’ve been trying to teach Oscar that but I think Oscar is more like Vince and it’s going to take a lot of work (or a lot of treats) to get him to smile.

Years ago I had a dog (a tiny little thing that was part poodle and who knows what else but she only weighed about 8 pounds soaking wet) who would smile when I asked her to. It was so cute. Her top lip would raise showing her teeth and she was definitely smiling not acting mean. She didn’t even look mean. So funny and so cute!

I have never seen a dog do that. I want Oscar to smile. 🙂

We had a couple of greyhounds that would smile. We didn’t teach them to do that, they just did it – usually when they were happy being around people. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn’t see it as smiling – they were afraid the dogs were getting ready to bite them, LOL.
