Yes, he’s a handful but we have so much fun with him. Vince was fixing to go to bed last night and then he stopped and got down on the floor with Oscar. Vince said “He looks like he’s begging me to play with him one more time.” I’ve never seen a dog love to play as much as Oscar loves to play. He’s such a joy to be around. Going outside first thing in the morning these days . . neighbors can’t see us in the fence but they probably hear me laughing and think I’ve lost my mind. Oscar loves the cooler weather and he can’t stop running and chasing leaves in the morning. Yesterday it was raining and it didn’t bother Oscar at all. Last year, he loved the snow. For Rita to go outside in the rain, we have to carry her, we put her down and she does her business, we pick her up and bring her back in. If we let her walk, she’ll just keep trying to run back to the house and never do anything.
We called Speck a fair weather dog. He never wanted to go out in the rain or snow.
When we’re sitting on the floor with him, he’ll run up to us and kinda swing his back end around so it’s right up against us, then he’ll scoot his front end over so he’s as close as he can get to one of us.
The first thing Oscar does every morning is gather up all the bones and toys he can find and he puts them in the middle of the floor.
As much as I wanted a dachshund, I knew I would love whichever one we got but Oscar is so special. He’s just so funny and has such a neat personality. Even Vince admits that he loves him.
We got a good one . . I say that til he gets hold of my linen or floss. 🙂

My dog is like Oscar. Kyree jumps on the couch and slides is bottom next to me the slices all the way back to the back of the couch and lays under my elbow.

He is so cute. How could anyone not love him! Maybe Vince has never had a dog as a puppy before. I know he will continue to entertain you for years to come!

We got Speck when he was a puppy but at that time, Vince was traveling a lot for work and was gone way more than he was home so he didn’t have nearly as much time to enjoy the puppy then or maybe Speck just wasn’t as fun as Oscar is. Speck was more of a lap dog. I love Oscar’s funny, busy, mischievous personality but I do miss a dog I can hold and snuggle with.
