As Thanksgiving approaches, I’m always looking for the best roll recipe. Having homemade rolls is about my favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal. On one of the Facebook groups I’m in, people were raving about this recipe – Fluffy Bread Machine Rolls.
It was in one of the milling groups and people are using 1/2 hard white wheat and 1/2 spelt and a teaspoon of vital wheat gluten. The recipe calls for bread flour so if you’re not milling your own, you should be good too and would probably not need the vital wheat gluten.
Of course, I don’t have a bread machine but I’m sure it could be started using a mixer, let rise, punch down, shape the rolls, let them rise and bake them. Here’s an article (which I didn’t read) that is supposed to give instructions on converting a recipe if you don’t have a bread machine.
I’m going to test the recipe ahead of time and make sure they’re as good as they look. I know . . a sacrifice to eat yummy warm, homemade rolls, straight from the oven but I’ll do it so you don’t have to guess if your Thanksgiving rolls are going to be perfect. 🙂
If any of y’all have amazing roll recipes, I’d love to hear about them.

I admire you for doing this. I just go buy Sister Schubert and you can take out as many as you need, put the others back in the freezer and bake for 9 minutes! I am lazy.

I’m going to try to make rolls out of the milk bread recipe. I think they would make a nice soft dinner roll

I think the rolls would be perfect. If you think about it, will you let me know how they turn out? Thanks.
