Yesterday Vince said he needed to go to town. He really did need to go because the lock on the walk through door in the garage stopped working. Vince had put new locks on when we moved in here and most of them have a lifetime warranty, which means as long as we own the home. The garage door lock was one that had a warranty so he wanted to take it back to Home Depot. We did and then I needed a few things from Hobby Lobby so we ran over there, then back to Home Depot to get the lock that had to be re-keyed.
While out, we stopped by the grocery store. Vince needed a couple of things and I wanted to get fresh unflavored gelatin to make dough enhancer. I have some but it’s been around for a while and for the dough enhancer, I didn’t want any funky flavors. While there, I saw that they had turkeys. The ones out were huge – well over 20 pounds. I was kinda looking at all the weights and the guy working there said something about them all being huge and I said “I wish there were some below 15 pounds!” He said he would go in the back and check and he came back with two – one was 14.25 pounds and one was 14.71 pounds so we bought one of those.
As I was going down the aisles, I saw multiple people changing the price tags on the shelves. I didn’t take the time to look at all of the price changes. It is what it is. The one I did notice was a package of tea that was being changed from $3.18 to $3.98. That’s a pretty big jump!
Later in the afternoon Vince was changing the lock and there was something wrong with it so he had to take it back to Home Depot. He said “We’re dressed . . we might as well go back today.” So . . we did. I hope that means I won’t be leaving the house til I have to go to the dentist towards the end of the week.

Only one turkey? Do you remember how much it was per pound?

Butterballs were $1.68 per pound and the Honeysuckle Whites were either $1.45 or $1.48 per pound. We got the Honeysuckle White.
Yes, just one because I was there. You can about guess that Vince will bring home another one before Thanksgiving . . if they stay in stock. I’m not a fan of turkey and would much prefer a roasted chicken. The only thing I like about turkey is turkey bone soup.
