Last night I got in bed and kept thinking about converting a chart from DMC to NPI Silks. I should never have written about it yesterday because I had been doing a good job keeping my mind off that project til I finished Love is the Key.
The chart I decided to convert is one of Teresa Kogut’s . . big surprise, huh? It was one of the September Patreon projects and it’s called Remember Me. I’m not going to share a photo here because all I have is the photo I printed and our printer is almost out of ink and it’s not a very good quality picture.
But I will share my conversion.
I started with the called for floss. I pulled the DMC versions except for one color that I didn’t have and then I used the Classic Colorworks color.
I matched those with the NPI silks.
Looking at the picture, I think I need to change the third one to a bit lighter shade.
Except for that one color that I need to change, I think I did a pretty close matchup.
Next I needed to decide on a linen.
I started with Fox & Rabbit’s Hogbristle, which I love but wasn’t sure it was right with these colors.
Next I pulled Alcott by Needle & Flax and I think it’s perfect.
Now . . to finish Love is the Key and Peppermint Bark so I can start Remember Me.

Love the look of the Alcott linen.

..A couple of the silks look a bit more colorful, but some of them look like exact matches!! Looks like a good choice on the linen.

It’s hard to tell in the photos and the lighting in that room is not great but on top of a very tall bed in the basement is about the only place safe from Oscar while sorting floss.
When I went back and looked at the brown last night that was obviously too bright in the photo but with the light in that room, it looked perfect, even after I knew it was wrong. I need to put the brighter daylight bulbs in the ceiling fan in there but I don’t think about it til I’m doing something like that since it’s the basement bedroom.
