Grandpa & Granny Points

Yesterday it was HOT! Addie was cheering in Joplin so we were going to the game. They came by here for a quick visit before the game, then we met them later at the game. We usually stay through halftime because the cheerleaders do a little “show” during halftime.

We left the game and when we got to the car, I checked the temp. It was in the low 90’s but felt like 97.

Vince asked if I wanted to get a hamburger at Babe’s. We had already eaten hamburgers at another place twice during the week so I was pushing my luck eating them a third time but I figured . . he wanted a hamburger and he had left the house at halftime . . during the middle of a Clemson game, to sit out in the heat to watch Addie cheer . . the least I could do was eat a hamburger.

I took one Benadryl after eating it, knowing I’d sleep most of the rest of the afternoon. We got home at 3:10 p.m., I played with Oscar til about 4:30, went to bed and slept til 9:30 p.m. That was quite a nap so, of course, I wasn’t sleepy last night. I had to make myself go to bed because I surely didn’t want to sleep til noon . . have to stay on some kind of schedule around here.

Nicole was telling me that her friend’s husband has the alpha gal allergy and if he even smells beef cooking, he has a reaction. I am definitely one of the lucky ones as far as this allergy goes. It could be so much worse.

When we were eating it, I said “This doesn’t seem to be too greasy.” Vince said “You’re still taking a Benadryl!” I know . . I told him “I’ll always take it after eating a hamburger but I’ll always get to take a long nap when I take it!” Vince said “A long nap is better than a long wait in the E.R.” Yep, he’s right . . always right! 🙂
