You may remember that the appliance guy told Vince our new oven should be installed on September 22 “but we’ll call Judy and schedule it”.
No call. No oven . . as I suspected.
Yesterday was one year since the stove and dishwasher were installed. I think it took another month or so for the fridge to be delivered. The wall oven . . I think it’s going to set a record. I have no idea what’s going on with it but I’m not calling them. They’ll call me . . soon I hope.

Years ago my oven quit, and we couldn’t afford a new one, so for almost two years I couldn’t bake anything. Same thing happened with the drying racks. I think that lasted about 5 years. Luckily, we have a wood stove and a couple of wooden clothes dryers that I was able to set up around the wood stove, and I’d keep turning them during the day to dry everything. I was doing laundry every day – a couple of loads at a time, so I could keep up with the 3 kids and hubby.
Looking back, I’m amazed with what I had to put up with just to deal with the “day-to-day.” 🙂 So glad I’m not dealing with that these days…I couldn’t even imagine.

When things like that happen, we tend to do as you say – day to day and get done what has to be done. We always look back and wonder how we did it but when you have no choice, you just do it. I can’t even imagine having to do all that with three kids.

Because of your problems getting your appliances, I would only look at in stock items. I get to see my ovens this weekend as they were installed this week. I hope your ovens come soon but every time I look at your brand, they were out of stock with a six month delivery time.

I did get the stove/oven combo, the dishwasher and the fridge so don’t ask me why the wall oven is taking so long. Here, when we were first looking, they only had two gas stoves in stock so whatever we got, we would have had to order. I just hope the wall oven eventually gets here so I’ll have matching appliances.
Your place is going to be so nice and I know you will enjoy it.

Do you think they might have lost your order or some one just through you now must have every thing and cancelled your order for the wall oven?’
judy.blog@gmail.com says
No. They know the situation. Vince was in there a few weeks ago to get something and the guy told him it would be here on 9/22 . . which it wasn’t. Besides, we had to pay in full when we ordered the oven so they’ve had our money all this time. 🙁

We have a double wall oven. The control board on the top one has stopped working. It’s digital. The oven is from when the house was built in 2005. I tried to order one online and the site wouldn’t let me order one. So we went to the store. We were told they aren’t taking any orders for ovens because they don’t know when they will ever get any. It might be years. They had some full stoves that are floor models but that was the only choice if you need an oven.

We have a full stove with an oven that we had delivered a year ago yesterday and a full oven with a stove downstairs but the wall oven is the only one that’s electric (the others are gas). Electricity is pretty much free (solar panels) so I use it the most but it’s from when the house was built (2003) and it really heats up the kitchen where the new ones don’t heat it up so much. I’m glad it isn’t my only oven!
It’s pretty crazy how hard it is to get parts for things.

We ordered new living room furniture 9-22-2021. It will be delivered next Wednesday.

WOW! Things are so crazy. I sure hope it arrives and it’s in perfect condition.

Me, too!

We primarily use a Breville toaster oven to bake things in. I can bake a full chicken, roast, cookies, pizza, etc, and its convection, too. You might want to look into one – its very inexpensive to run and I love it for the cooking I do for mainly just the 2 of us. I have a full oven/range, but its propane and I use it as little as possible as I don’t want the company making money off us. They overcharge for their fuel, plus its the same company that is responsible for most of the fires in Northern California as they didn’t do maintenance on lines for decades, and now those lines are falling & starting fires.

I’m definitely not short on ovens. We have two full size ovens, which are both propane but we can go two years on one tank so I don’t worry terribly about the cost. I just prefer electric because with the solar panels, we rarely pay an electric bill. We have the Instant Pot Vortex air fryer/convection oven and I can bake a whole chicken in that. We have a Ninja Flip air fryer/convection oven that we can roasts breasts and thighs in but not a big chicken. We have a solar oven . . there’s just no shortage of ways to cook around here but my main concern with the wall oven is that I want the appliances to match. We ordered it, we paid for it in full when we ordered it and it should have been here at least 6 months ago.
