It is very easy to work on one project start to finish when it’s a project I love. This project is A Sampler for All Seasons by The Scarlett House. It was exclusive to the Homespun Needlework (Cross Stitch and Samplers) group on Facebook. Every two or three months, there’s a chart offered through a particular shop. Each time, it’s a different shop and a different designer. You must be a member of the group to order the kit. Usually (maybe always), the kit includes fabric, chart and floss. Often there are options as to the count on the fabric, and there will be choices of overdyes or silk floss. If you’re interested in these kits, you will need to join that Facebook group. It’s a good group and I enjoy being a part of it.
The next exclusive kits should be offered some time in October and the design is by Fox & Rabbit and, from what I can gather, it will be Fox & Rabbit fabric.
A Sampler for All Seasons was the most recent offering and here’s where I left off last night.
One more house block to stitch, and more words in the center.
You may remember that the final house is supposed to be white. That’s just too ghosty and I want to use a color. This is the summer house and it has a bit of a patriotic theme with the eagle and the flag. I wish I had a very pale blue NPI silk but I don’t unless I could find some in one of my other kits that has NPI. Otherwise, I think I’ve narrowed the choice down to pink or lavender.
I’m thinking probably pink. It has just enough color to show up better than the white would. Y’all think pink would be ok? I do have NPI in a couple of other kits so I’ll check through those and see if there’s a light blue that I might have.
On second thought . . there are two lavender flowers in the top right block. Maybe I should use that color. It’s the one on the card (right of the three). So . . which do you think? Pink on the left, mauvey lavender in the middle or lavender on the right?
Donnalyn says
Judy, that is absolutely charming! My vote is the mauvy lavender in the middle. Can’t wait to se it finished!
Teri says
I would look for a light blue….
Debra Mcintosh says
I’m no help at all, I thought a very light Olive green!
Sue says
I agree with light olive green or light blue

You can never go wrong with a purple house although I like the gold color in the other house shutters too.
Joyce in Iowa says
I’m voting with gold of the shutters as well. The other houses feel like earth or deeper tones and a pastel may put it out of balance. You know the rules, though, your house your choice! 🙂 Whatever you choose will be lovely.

I see a house and yard for Winter, Spring and Fall. Light Blue or a light yellow would be nice for Summer. There is enough green going on with trees and plants. It is looking beautiful.

Your 1st thought light blue would look good with the original thought patriotic and the bluebird in the upper right corner will tie in with the lower right corner. It looks looks so good right now! Good luck!
Ann says
I think the center light lavender would look best.
