It’s never too early to plan cross stitch projects, right? Last night I added 2023 Stitching Plans to the sidebar. So far, the only things on there are starts planned for January 1 and February 1.
Denise and I are starting Three Things Sampler on January 1. It will be 13-1/8″ x 18″ stitched on 40 count and it looks like it has a whole lot of stitching so, no doubt, I won’t finish that one in January but another friend is going to stitch Smith Sampler and that’s one of the first charts I bought when I got back into cross stitching a couple of years ago and I really want to stitch that. I ordered the silk floss for it when I ordered the chart so we’re going to start that on February 1.
I’m hoping that 2023 will be a year of finishing more than starting.
In 2022, I had 5 birthday starts planned. I started two and finished one. Actually I started three because I subbed the one I had scheduled for my birthday but what matters is that I finished one.
In other planned starts, I had five charts planned to have started so far and I started three; finished none.
I have finished nine projects in 2022. I feel certain I’ll finish three more and if so, I’ll be happy to have finished 12 projects this year. I’ll do an end of the year report.
There isn’t a single project that I’ve started that I don’t want to finish but none of them are close to being finished so .. we’ll see how 2023 shakes out when it comes to finishing more than I start!

I am working on quilts that are started. Happy with progress; one of your patterns is now a top, another of yours moving along, a Bonnie Hunter quickly moving along, another class project ready to quilt. I am thrilled. I have a machine and accessories setup upstairs, everything ready in downstairs sewing room. So choose where and which to work on! This darn heat is sometimes the determining factor! It sure feels good to be excited about piecing again! And need to get moving as two new baby quilts will soon be needed. BTW, I was asked if I could share the pattern of the top that’s completed. It has been admired by several people!

Judy, I don’t know if it is my phone or the link, but when I click on the Smith Sampler link, it goes to the Three Things.

I probably have the wrong link. I’ll go check it and fix it. Thanks!
