Since I’m such a homebody, and leave the house as little as possible, days like this take their toll!
This morning Vince wanted to go to Aldi. I had used almost all my stash of canned diced tomatoes in the eggplant canning marathon, I had mentioned that I needed to buy more diced tomatoes. And, I wanted to try the Pub pretzels from Aldi. I did buy them and the Dot’s arrived today but I haven’t tried any of them yet. We bought tomatoes, pretzels and more canned peas and carrot that I use in dog food.
Vince suggested Boomer’s BBQ since it was getting close to lunch time and we were near there so we did that.
Came home and Nicole called and said her car was ready so the plan was that Vince and I would drive over to Nicole’s, Vince would take his car and go to the Harbor Freight in Frontenac, KS for something he needs that the Joplin Harbor Freight never seems to have in stock; Nicole and I would take my car and go up to the dealer, about 35 miles north of them, she would get her car and I would come on home via the interstate instead of the back way we usually go. I wasn’t looking forward to interstate driving and I had never come home from their house to our house that way. I knew the worst that could happen is I’d miss the exit that’s a faster way to our house but I’d just take the next exit, which is the exit we always took when we lived here before but still . . I was a bit apprehensive about going a new route.
A friend’s dad, who lives just a few miles from Chad, had given us some apples and pears. I had freeze dried most of them so I wanted to take some of those by for him so we did that, then we went on to Nicole’s. Vince got his car and left, then Nicole told me that Chad, who’s working in Kansas City, had come back to their town because the dentist had a cancellation and they had needed to cancel Chad’s last appointment so Chad came back for that appointment and, since he had to drive back to KC, and he would be passing right by the Jeep dealer, he would drop Nicole off to get her car. Whew . . that was a whirlwind of a paragraph!
Chad was already finished at the dentist and on his way home to pick Nicole up so I hung around and visited with them for a minute, then I came on home, watered the garden and plants outside. Then Vince called and wanted to go eat Mexican “since we were both dressed in decent clothes”. We did that. Vince had asked Jeremy for some good boxes from his work for using in the new garden areas. They had some at their house so Angie brought them by and was at the house waiting for us when we got home. We visited with her and their puppy for a while, and . . here I am . . haven’t taken one stitch today and I feel like I’d rather go to bed than stitch but I know once I get started stitching, I’ll be fine.
I don’t have to leave the house tomorrow or Friday so maybe I can get a lot of stitching done those days.

It’s days like this that make me really feel my age. Exhaustion sets in really fast if I’ve been running around much. I’d have fallen asleep in my chair within 10 minutes of arriving at home if I’d had a day like yours! Better you than me!! 🙂

I am getting a bit of stitching done but I’ll be in bed early tonight. You’re right . . the age definitely has made a difference and it seems to have happened quickly.
