Dear Dot: Where have your pretzels been all my life? My husband ordered something from Blane’s Farm & Fleet and inside the box was a sample package of your pretzel twists – the Southwest Seasoned variety. I opened the bag. I should never have done that. I should never have tasted the first pretzel. They were so delicious. I put ONE – yes, one – pretzel on a napkin so my husband could try ONE. After eating the last one, I looked into the empty bag, I saw a bit of seasoning. I was so tempted to lick the inside of the bag. I did not. Well, maybe I did but I’m going to say I did!
Seriously . . have you ever had Dot’s Pretzels? Are they all as good as the southwest seasoned ones? I immediately got online and looked for more. Blane’s did have them but I found them at Amazon – a 32 bag of Honey Mustard, a 32 oz. bag of Southwest Seasoned and a 32 oz. bag of original seasoned for $39.99.
Then Vince and I had this conversation:
Me: Did you taste that pretzel I left for you?
Vince: Yes . . the ONE pretzel?
Me: Yes, I loved them. I found them on Amazon – three 32 oz. bags for $39.99.
Vince: Please tell me you did NOT spend $40 on pretzels!
Me: Nope. I did NOT! I spent $80 on pretzels because I ordered two sets of three bags.

LOL! They really are the best. I love the original. Do I buy them? No. Waiting for a gluten free kind. Enjoy your pretzels!!

I love Dot’s pretzels! There’s from North Dakota originally, so we had them in Minnesota for a quite a while. The company has been sold and they are distributed nationally now. They are so good! I can’t buy them because I eat them non-stop.
Teri says
OMGosh the original are the best….just like the other readers I can’t buy them because I’ll eat the whole bag…Safeway now has them….

The original flavor is my favorite, but the rest of the family loves all the flavors! Target has them for less. If you’re a fan of the original flavor, we think the Aldi pub-style seasoned pretzels taste just as good (and much less $!).

They’re more at Target here and online. It’s $7.19 for a 16 oz. bag. I got 3 (not 6) – 32 oz bags for $40. At Target, 6 – 16 oz. bags would equal 3 – 32 oz bags and the cost would be $43. It’s not a lot of difference but considering Target is one place I try to avoid, and I’d have to drive there, I’m happy to save $3 and have Amazon deliver them to my door. But, if I’m ever in Target and my supply is getting low, I will buy them there.
Tractor Supply here is supposed to have them but they were more and they only had the original. I’ve not tried the original but I’m such a jalapeno fan, I can’t imagine I will like them more than I like the southwest seasoned ones.

In your blog you say you got 3 32 oz bags for $39.99, not 6, which was probably a typo. They must be awfully good to be worth $13 a bag. I’ll stick with the pub style pretzels from Aldi.
judy.blog@gmail.com says
Thank you. You’re correct. I was thinking about the 6 – 16 oz. bags it would take to equal 3 – 32 oz. bags.
Aldi are way more but our Aldi doesn’t always have them and I’m going to get the Pub pretzels again to try them but I liked the seasoning better on Dot’s – maybe not THAT much better. I’ll have to do a taste test. 🙂

Haven’t tried those but we do need to get to Aldi this week so I’ll look for them. Thanks.

Dot’s Pretzels are terrific – and found in nearly every convenience store and grocery in our area. Maybe because we’re so close to ND where they are made. My favorites are the honey mustard.
judy.blog@gmail.com says
They may be more readily available here than I realized. I’m the “shop by a list” kind of shopper and I rarely look at anything not on my list. I’ll be watching for them here.

I love Dots pretzels even though I absolutely don’t eat regular pretzels! My aunt introduced me to them–her grandkids lived near where they are made and they were only available there. Later on I mail ordered some, too. But recently, I saw them in the grocery store here in Atlanta! They were the honey mustard variety and very tasty. Now I’ll have to see if I can find the southwest ones…

If you love jalapeno, you’ll probably like these. They aren’t hot but there’s just that hint of jalapeno flavor.

I have a friend who always goes to the local Farm & Fleet as she’s addicted to Dots! She was sad they were out of them last time she went. They are here “treat” food when she goes on camping trips.

They were out at a lot of places online. That’s why I ordered two sets from Amazon. Just my luck – fall in love with something and then it will be hard to find. All day I’ve wished I had some.
Arlene Trombley says
St. Louis area Schnucks carry them. Looks like 16 oz is on sale for 5.99
judy.blog@gmail.com says
That’s a good price. We don’t have a Schnuck’s here. Walmart has them listed at $6.94 but they were out of stock so I don’t know if that’s a recent price or a price from when they last had them . . and who knows how long ago that might have been and when they’ll have more.

This is so funny! Hey at least it is not yarn, patterns, floss or linen! AND he can have at least one in each bag!!

Try the pumpkin spice Oreos they are very yum

The Dot’s Pretzels are the best, but I only like the “original”. Other flavors taste phony to me.
I 1st found them in Ace Hardware in Ocean Shores, WA, and for a while Ace Hardware was the only place in WA to find them. Thankfully they have now made it into my neighborhood grocery store
judy.blog@gmail.com says
I haven’t tried any but the southwest flavored and it’s the jalapeno seasoning that I seem to love. I see now why people said they won’t buy them because they can’t stop eating them.
