This at least gives me hope that some day Oscar may become a lap dog.
This afternoon Oscar sat with Vince and they both slept. Oscar slept for a couple of hours. Vince didn’t sleep very long but Vince was loving having Oscar being calm, quite and snuggly.
Oscar did sit with me in my chair for a while. Darn . . I’ll admit today was a pajama day. Today was a cross stitching, playing with the dog day. Vince went to the pallet store and stopped by the Little Caesar’s and brought pizza home so really — all I’ve done is played with the dog and cross stitched.
I’m not sure how much you can see but see that little brown area about the middle of his back? See the longer white hairs on the front part of that brown spot? That whole patch of hair about from where the brown patch starts to where it ends is long and kinda wiry and wavy. You really don’t notice it till you pet him but it’s funny to be running my hand along smooth, flat hair and then come to the patch of wiry, wavy hair.
Tomorrow he’ll be 9 months old. Today and yesterday, I’ve seen more improvement than I’ve seen in just about the past 6 months. That’s not to say I didn’t catch him eating some of the carpet and he grabbed a floss tag with silk floss and ripped the cardstock tag to shreds and hopefully didn’t damage the silk floss . . he’s still a handful but I’m seeing some improvement.

Don’t you just love the snuggly moments with a pup??? I do miss puppyhood. When Jan of this year rolled around I had 8 Dachshunds. 4 seniors, 2 middles and 2 younger ones (4 and 5). Early March I took in a senior Chi on hospice. I lost my two 19 year olds in Feb, the hospice Chi in June, and my 20 year old in July. That left me with a 17 year old I rescued from Japan, a12 year old, an 11 yr old, and a 5 and 4 yr olds. Gureisu from Japan has a vet appt to cross over the bridge later today, coinciding with the sun in Japan. A very sweet abandoned 4.2 lb Dachshund spitfire. Sassy should have been her name but I chose Gureisu, meaning Grace. Please light a candle at dusk to guide her across Rainbow Bridge. Thank you. Then there was 4.

So sorry. Even when you know it’s time, it still hurts.
