Yesterday . . wait . . go back to Friday. Nicole said Addie called her and said “WHAT IS IN THE GARAGE?” Nicole said “I don’t know . . what does it look like?” Addie said “BLOOD!” Nicole was fairly certain it was NOT blood and asked her to get a paper towel, wipe some of it up and send her a picture. Addie did that and Nicole, being such a well rounded person, knew it was coolant so she went out to her car, checked the coolant and it was at the “add coolant” level so she left work and took it to the dealer. They looked at it and she has a cracked radiator. Who knows why but they told her she really should leave it there so she called Chad who is working out of town about an hour from where the dealer is so he took off work and came to rescue her. The dealer said there was a slim chance the new radiator would arrive on Saturday and they could get it put in on Saturday. The radiator did arrive but the box was damaged and so was the radiator so they have to order a new one on Monday, hope to have it on Tuesday and MAYBE get it installed on Tuesday. So, with Chad working out of town, that left Nicole without a car – without any means of transportation.
I told Vince . . we have three vehicles, let’s let Nicole have my car til she gets hers back. I have to go out of town just for the day on Tuesday and I didn’t want to be on the road in Vince’s car so he said he’d rather me keep my car and let Nicole take the Honda. Chad and Nicole were in town yesterday for Addie’s game so they came by here to pick up the Honda.
Back to the original story . . we keep Oscar in his little fenced area downstairs. We have a piece of PVC pipe stuck through the fence between a bucket and the wall so he can’t slide the gate open. The minute they walked in and Oscar realized there was company and he was downstairs by himself, he was barking and squealing. We were all sitting upstairs talking and we heard “crash/bang”. Vince said . . listen . . he’ll be coming up the stairs. Sure enough, he had managed to let himself out. He ran into the room and had this look like “I’m here. The party can begin now!” He was so excited . . FIVE people to play with him. Chad and Nicole loved playing with him. I think Addie was kinda overwhelmed at his behavior. She had on shorts and he hurts when he steps on your legs so she was playing with him but not as much as Chad and Nicole were. Chad said “He’s the happiest little dog I’ve ever seen!” He played and played and everyone was having fun with him. I asked Chad if he thought Speck ever acted like that and he said “No . . not even close!” They said “Does he go at this speed all day?” Yes . . all day!
We always enjoy getting to visit with them.
Nicole drove the pickup home, and as Chad was backing Vince’s car out of the garage, Vince said “I just had a flashback. Remember the last time I let Chad drive my car?” Some of you will remember this incident.
I said to Vince “You hadn’t let Chad drive your car. You gave it to him so this time is different! Your car won’t end up burning up in a cornfield!”
Chad called Vince when he got home and told him that he had made it safely. Nicole only works a couple of miles from home so I’m sure the car will be fine. Once her car is ready, Vince and I will drive up and retrieve the Honda. Chad told Vince they would bring it back next weekend but Vince will be wanting it back home as soon as he can get it back.

I’m sorry, I did a wine snort (ouch) at that photo. Totally unexpected. I’m still giggling.

Every time I look over there I laugh. It’s like he took a hacksaw and removed one of the bars in his cell. I’ll laugh more after a few days when I feel like there aren’t going to be medical issues due to the wood he ate. He’s eating, pooping, playing and chewing on everything like normal this morning. I sprayed it all down with bitter apple (which I do at least twice a day). Sometimes I think he likes that stuff. I’ve been tempted to try Tabasco but just can’t bring myself to do that to him.
