Yesterday I came across a website, Southern Gal Cooking Class, and she has some whole wheat recipes that look great. I watched the video with the 5 Grain Whole Wheat Bread last night. I kept thinking . . if I go start this now, we can have fresh rolls with dinner tonight. Then I told myself . . no big deal if you don’t have homemade rolls and talked myself out but I crawled into bed about midnight and couldn’t stop thinking about the bread so I got up, and stirred up the first two parts. Thank goodness the wheat mill was downstairs because it isn’t terribly quiet and Vince was asleep. I’m going to finish it up today. Of course, I’ll report back on how we liked it. We love bread with lots of seeds but so far, nothing I’ve made has been knock your socks off outstanding so I’m hoping this one is.
If we love it, I’ll weight the flax seeds, sunflower seeds and oats and make up some “packets” to keep in the freezer and that will make it a little easier – not so much stuff to get out and then put away. I guess when you’re making bread, what’s three things to get out and put up? 🙂
I learned several things watching her video so if you’re new or even experienced with bread making, it’s a good video to watch.
