I know we should not laugh at the not so nice things our children and grandchildren do but, folks . . it’s payback time for Chad. Unfortunately, Nicole was such a good child and she doesn’t deserve this. Chad does and he’s out of town so much that Nicole is the one having to deal with it.
Nicole called me yesterday afternoon and was telling me that Addie was waiting to go swimming with her friend. The friend’s mom was going to take them but Addie’s badge for getting access to the pool was in Nicole’s car and Addie called Nicole to see how much longer it was going to be before she got home.
Nicole said “Addie, I had to make another stop but I’m on my way home and I’ll be there in just a minute.”
Without even responding to her mom, Addie said “Alexa, set the timer for ONE minute!”
I can see Addie saying that! Oh, my goodness . . that is something Chad would have said at that age. Nicole probably would never have even thought about saying something like that.
I told Nicole . . turn it around. The next time you ask her to do something and she says “I’ll do it in just a minute”, you say “Aexa, set the timer for one minute.”
For me, just remembering Chad at that age and the things he would say . . it made me laugh.

So funny! I keep telling my 2 daughters that “karma is a B****!” My drama queen has her own drama queen. And my other daughter who never slept, and was always late – has one kid just like her. I love them!!!

You can’t help but smile . . even if they never know you’re smiling.

Isn’t there an old maxim about grandchildren being a parent’s revenge on their children? If not there should be! Our grandson started kindergarten last week and our daughter was reporting that he “had made a friend but didn’t know his name. Could I believe that?” I then reminded her that we had the same conversation on her first day of kindergarten and she didn’t know her friends name either. History does repeat itself in many ways. Not knowing a new friends name on the first day holds no candle to the fact neither daughter or grandson took naps after they were 10 months old. Yes, I could empathize with her being so tired and not having a moment to herself but I didn’t feel particularly sorry for her. Karma indeed can be a “B*****”.

So true! Chad will sometimes start telling me something Addie has done and I guess the look on my face . . he knows I’m thinking “karma!” and he’ll say “I know . . I put you through the same thing!”
