Warranty Replacements Update

Dehydrator:

The new dehydrator arrived yesterday. I had purchased it in 2014 and it had a 10 year warranty so after jumping through their hoops, talking to probably half a dozen people who all asked for the same things, we were told a new dehydrator was being shipped and it was! Vince said “I don’t think this dehydrator is so great and if I’d paid full price for that, I wouldn’t be too happy. I’m going to look for a better one.” I told him . . it will do what we need it to do. It was free. I know you’re going to find the parts to fix the old one. Somewhere, we have another one. That’s three big dehydrators. We don’t need another one!” I hope he listens.

I would like to make jerky. It will probably take a few tries to find the right recipe (unless some of you want to share a recipe with me). Our neighbor behind us makes the best beef jerky I’ve ever had. He says “It’s taken me years to perfect this recipe” and I know that means . . it’s my special recipe . . don’t even ask me to share it. I was going to say to him “I know you won’t share your recipe but would you give me hints as to how to make good jerky?” and hope he would say “Oh, I’ll share it with you!” But now that the fence is up, he’s the one neighbor I never see. I can figure it out but if I make a recipe we don’t like, that’s an expensive waste! I guess I can make small batches of several recipes and still run the dehydrator once and see what we think. I don’t have to use 10 pounds of beef at once. Maybe Chad will get several deer this year and he’ll share some venison with me.

The phone situation is not resolved. Thank goodness we decided to change one phone at a time and since it was mine that already wasn’t working, we started with it.
