Right now, the Nesco electric pressure canner is 136.79 at Kohl’s, with the discount code shown in the cart PLUS $20 Kohl’s cash and free shipping.
Be sure to confirm that’s the price before checking out.
Full disclosure: I ordered a second one. Mine is running for the fifth time today. There will be months that I probably won’t even use one of them but when I need two, it will be nice to have. I would have fired up the stove top canner except I have three different things canning – three things that need three different amounts of time and it’s easier to do it with the electric canner – less heat in the house, less time spent watching the canner.

I can’t prove it’s safe but I can guarantee you it’s easy and not scary.

I was waiting to find one on sale! I looked at the Presto but couldn’t just justify the cost! But at this price…one is finding its way to my house!

This sounds fun! I canned my first double batch of French fries tonight. Second batch is soaking overnight in the fridge for tomorrow morning.

I investigated electric pressure cookers and the FDA and our state university (WSU) stated under no circumstances to use electric pressure cookers for canning. Especially meats and vegetables. I don’t mean to be difficult but people need to be careful about these devises. It said even though THEY say it’s safe it is not at all recommended
Pat/SC says
Are pressure cookers and Cannes the same thing? I didn’t think so.
Pat/SC says
I just read several articles and electric pressure cookers and electric pressure canners are not the same. The canners have a weighted dial or gauge that gives a more constant pressure.
Shelley says
According to the WSU information beware and don’t fall for that false info about them being different. They aren’t safe. Period. Use at your own risk. Personally I won’t put my family at risk

I am so far behind in reading blogs. I missed out on the kohl’s sale for the pressure canner. I hope they go on sale again soon. I killed my regular pressure canner and this would be so much more convenient. I can’t wait.

They do seem to drop the price often so just watch and you should be able to get a deal.
