I have to take back what I said about there being no customer service left.
My new phone was supposed to arrive yesterday but when the tracking said it was in Indianapolis at 9 a.m. (having arrived there from PA), I doubted it was going to get here yesterday but . . those delivery companies do some amazing things.
It did not arrive but that was fine . . there are a couple of days left to cancel the old phone/service before we have to pay again. And, even it wasn’t ok with me . . there wasn’t much I could do about it. Vince said “Are you going to call them?” I said “No. I’m cross stitching. It is where it is and I don’t need them to tell me where it is and that’s about all they would be able to tell me anyway so . . nope, not interrupting my cross stitching.” I had witches to get finished!
This morning I checked the tracking and it had arrived in Memphis last night and left Memphis in the wee hours of this morning. Vince had to go to Lowe’s to get landscape timbers to build another couple of raised beds. He came in and said that while he was still dressed in going to town clothes, he was going to run to Walmart for something and asked if I wanted to go. I told him I’d better stay home (darn . . you know how I hate missing a trip to Walmart . . NOT!) because the phone might come and I had to sign for it. He suggested I check the tracking and I did and it showed that it had arrived in Joplin at 8:30 a.m., was on a truck for delivery at 8:34 a.m. so I stayed home.
I was downstairs making floss tags for my next project and I heard the driveway buzzer and went upstairs to see if it was Fed Ex. It was and the driver got to the door about the same time I did. He handed me the phone and I said “Thanks! I was waiting for that!” He apologized several times and I was saying “That’s ok! I’m happy it’s here now!” He said “But . . it was supposed to get here yesterday!” He appeared to be truly sorry it was late.

A day late is not good customer service. Fedex is always a day late and they quite often deliver to the wrong address. A good neighbor then makes the delivery. Sorry I disagree with you on good customer service.

Difference of opinion. These days if something even gets here, even a week late, I feel like we’re doing good. Amazon rarely gets anything here the day they say they will. The phone wasn’t from Amazon but it did come from PA and when it said “anticipated” delivery was yesterday and it didn’t get sent til mid-day on Monday, I thought . . not happening. There are so many things that even Fed Ex can’t control but the fact that the instant the box got to Joplin, someone ran it out to me and I’m in the next town – I considered that great and the fact that the delivery man apologized several times made it appear that they cared . . which is more than we get from most of the people we’re dealing with these days.

The driver’s attitude does make up for a lot!

YAY – there is some good customer service once in awhile. That would definitely put a smile on my face for the whole day.

I was going to comment about some outstanding customer service I had yesterday. I had my Mom’s social security deposited into a separate checking account at a credit union, and needed to notify them that she had died. I was having trouble with the app and ended up deleting it. I then reinstalled it. BUT…I couldn’t remember the account name or password. (It was 1550 miles away…) So, I ended up calling them. It took well over 45 minutes to get me back in. I kept apologizing to the agent. She kept reassuring me that it was no problem, that I was her only priority, and she was there to help. What a wonderful representative for her company. And she was soooo much better than the woman I had the misfortune of speaking with from Social Security.
It does exist, and may we all be fortunate to experience it!

Great that you had one really good one to counteract the really bad one! I so much appreciate good customer service. I don’t feel like I expect too much and it seems like just doing what’s expected in a pleasant manner shouldn’t be too much to ask but . . maybe it is.

It seems to be that way far too often!!
