I think one of the reasons I stay sane (no comment) is that I can laugh at myself. I make decisions without thinking. I had said instead of doing Sampler September, I was going to do Scarlett September and work on Scarlett House designs. Then Denise said she was going to do one of Brenda Keye’s samplers so I said “I’ll do one of those with you!” and I pulled out “She Seeketh“. This morning I pulled the floss and made all the floss tags. Yesterday I made a working copy of the chart and got that all set up. This afternoon I started looking at the chart. There’s a good it of one over one, there are at least three specialty stitches I’ve never done. OK . . cancel that plan. I’m going back to Scarlett September.
I sat down in the floor and started pulling out Scarlett House charts. I pulled out one bag and I thought each bag and one chart. No . . one bag had FIVE charts.
I want to stitch all these charts at some point but not right now so I continued pulling charts.
There were 11 Scarlett House charts I pulled out. I narrowed it down to three that I want to stitch and was thinking about stitching 10 days on each of the three but I am still feeling like I want to stitch start to finish and not have so many WIPS so here’s what I decided.
First, I’m going to stitch A Sampler for All Seasons. That came as a kit so I don’t have to order floss or fabric. IF I get that finished, I’m going to move on to Scarlett September Project #2.
Project #2 will be Hannah’s Brownstone. I’ve wanted to stitch that one for a very long time. OK . . “very long” . . I haven’t even been cross stitching for two years but that’s one of the early charts I purchased.
And, even though there’s probably zero chance I’ll finish the first project, IF I finish the first and second project, I’ll start on Caroline Suffling 1848.
When it gets to be October, I’ll make a decision about how to proceed. I could put everything back in its project bag and start working on Fall or Christmas projects or I could finish and get all three of these projects done.
I can’t even say what I’ll do this evening . . why am I thinking about October?

What you ditched me? 🙂 I can’t blame you if there was over one and specialty stitches and I really like the Scarlett House design you are starting with. Now I have to go look at my Brenda Keyes chart to make sure there’s no over one in it (but I don’t think so). I may be making floss tags tonight since my floss arrived today.

Seeing how many charts you pulled out made me giggle….lol I had a change of heart regarding what sampler I might work on. I found my copy of the Teresa Kogut chart I was looking for and it was next to a chart I had printed from Primitive Sampler magazine awhile back. It’s called Be Kind Sampler by Teresa Miller. Oh! I think I like this bee sampler even better so since I had to make another order to 123 I ordered all the floss and fabric for it. But…I also might do Bluebird Sampler (I fell in love after working on the Red Bird one)…It’s nice to have choices. 🙂 About the metallic embroidery thread….I will still do a comparison stitch but I happened to see something about a metallic gold thread, Kreinik Braid #4 and lo and behold that’s one of the choices for the Owl Forest pattern. So…I ordered the one mentioned and now I’ll have 3 different ones to try. In my excitement about the second Be Kind sampler, I forgot to check 123’s other golds. One of the ones I received is closer to the DMC one and the others were very bright. But I think I will hold off ordering more because maybe I’ll like that Kreinik best!

I’ll be anxious to hear what you think about all of them. Us stitchers are kinda weird, aren’t we? 🙂

I just order that kit earlier this week and splurgd the silks. The $25 shipping slowe me down for a minute but hopefully it will be here in September.

Yes, it just doesn’t seem fair about the shipping. I’ve ordered from a Canadian shop and always thought their shipping to the U.S. was reasonable. Too bad it isn’t the same with things going to y’all.
