I’ve been stitching a bit here and there on the stitching witches, aka Denise & Judy! 🙂
There’s still several days worth of stitching left to be done but it will be finished soon. I don’t do much decorating for Halloween but I think this one is so cute.
Denise had the idea to use metallic floss for the needles and I thought that was a great idea. She’s so creative! I have a couple of different metallic/shiny type threads but I’ve heard others talk about how hard they are to use so I’ve been afraid to try them. I was watching a flosstube the other day (sorry, can’t remember which one) and the stitcher mentioned Petite Treasure Braid. She said something like . . “If you’ve ever used metallic thread, you’ll REALLY appreciate this floss.”
I ordered several colors. There are a lot of colors. It’s $3.35 for a 25 yard card. It was super easy to stitch with and I think any time I need a bit of sparkle, this will be my go to floss.
It would be so nice to have this finished by the end of the weekend but it all depends on what plans Vince has for us to work outside.

That is so cute!! Your post couldn’t have been more timely! I’m working on Owl Forest’s Apples of Youth and it calls for the DMC metallic gold for the apples. I still have the lower half of the chart to complete and I had read somewhere that you should do the metallic last so I haven’t done the gold apples. I think I will order some of that and test out both before adding the gold to my piece. Thanks for the recommend!!

If you do try both and you remember, please let me know what you think.

I’ll let you know! It’ll be a few days before I will order the floss as I want to check and see what else I “need” before I order….lol Noticed they have so many golds!! I’ll have to order several different ones and then I’ll do some testing on both before I use the winner on my piece.

That’s what I did – several golds and several silvers.
