Big Red Ice Cream

I LOVE this stuff! Yesterday we went by the grocery store that has the bargains and they actually had Big Red soda. It’s kinda hard to find in this area. The cans were more expensive but the 2 liter bottles will lose their fizz before I use it all and does it even matter with this recipe? I don’t know. Anyway, I bought a 12 pack of Big Red and came home and made the ice cream. I used 2 cans of Big Red and between 1/3 and 1/2 can of Eagle Brand milk.

We still had over half of the black walnut ice cream in the freezer. Vince loved it! I liked the ice cream part, even the flavor of the black walnuts but I didn’t like biting into the walnut pieces. For me, I would never choose black walnut ice cream over the Big Red ice cream. Vince, on the other hand, has never really liked Big Red ice cream.

I didn’t want to say “I want all the Big Red ice cream for myself” so I asked Vince if he would rather have Big Red or black walnut. He said he’d take Big Red. What? I want all that for myself! No . . I didn’t say that.

So, I scooped up two bowls of the Big Red ice cream and I said “This stuff is SO good!” Vince said “If you like Big Red!” I said “Why don’t you eat the black walnut instead?” He said “Ok. I will.”

That made me tempted to eat both bowls of Big Red but I used a little self control . . probably all I had, and put the other bowl in the freezer.
