My kitchen is always cluttered but generally I don’t make huge messes. Yesterday I made a huge mess.
Vince and I had been at the store Tuesday and he mentioned buying Club Soda. I asked if that wasn’t kinda like the water we make with the Soda Stream. Vince said it was a bit different and he wanted Club Soda so he got Club Soda.
I was trying to reach something in the upper cabinet. I knew it was going to fall but I’m pretty good at catching things as they fall out of the cabinet. I’m short . . I have to do what I have to do. There was a can sitting on the counter. You know where this is going, right?
I’m not sure if my elbow hit the can or something else fell out of the cabinet. I did catch what I was trying to reach but in the process, that unopened can of soda hit the floor, pretty much exploded and soda went everywhere. Thinking it was the Club Soda, I grabbed a towel, wiped it up; saw more over past the stove, wrung the towel out, wiped more. Then I wrung the towel out, made some vinegar water in the sink. Using the same towel, kinda mopped the whole kitchen floor using my foot. Wait . . why is this floor sticky? I looked at the can – it was some off brand lemon lime soda – sticky as all get out. All I was doing was spreading it everywhere . . the kitchen . . heck, while I’m mopping with my foot, let me do the breakfast room too.
Oh, my. I mopped with the real mop and fresh vinegar water four different times and there’s still some sticky spots on that floor.
The good news is . . except for a few sticky spots, my kitchen floor is super clean! More good news . . Vince never asked where his soda can went and he was outside and never came in once while I was mopping so I didn’t even have to tell him about my humongous mess!

You’re right. I mopped twice today and can still find a sticky spot – especially with tennis shoes on. Yuck is right!
