Below I will be showing photos of projects from Country Sampler’s Threads of History Club #1 (2022) and Kitten Stitcher’s Home is Where the Heart is Club Kit. If you’re in either of those clubs, though Kitten Stitcher’s really isn’t a club, and don’t want to see the charts, stop reading, ok?
How about we have a picture of Oscar when he was playing with us on the floor last night . . just to be sure no one accidentally sees something they don’t want to see. Wouldn’t it be nice if that’s how it was in real life? Just see a picture you like instead of a picture you don’t want to see!
OK . . back to the cross stitch. Neither of these pieces had I seen before ordering. It’s always a surprise with these.
Home Is Where My Stitching Is:
When I first saw this one, I was kinda disappointed. It seemed so blah but then when I was thinking about the “home” wall I have in the foyer, I think this will be a great addition to that wall because the others I have there are colorful. It looks like it should be fairly easy to stitch and might be something I can take with me on a couple of trips we have planned.
The fabric and floss were included. The fabric is 30 count linen which is a beautiful gray but 30 count means two strands of floss and I don’t think I want to do that. I’ll go through my fabric and see if I have a gray in 36 or 40 count.
This is going to be a fun stitch and it’s funny how I went from not being thrilled with it to being anxious to start it.

This is the first of the Threads of History Club for the new session. I’ve watched others make projects for the previous clubs and always wished I had signed up so I did it and I’m happy about it. This club is a collaboration with various designers for Country Sampler in Wisconsin.
Everything Country Sampler does is first class. I always get excited when something from them arrives.
As you can see, this is a Blackbird Designs piece and it’s an adaptation of an antique sampler. Alma used her great grandmother’s name and the year she married and suggests we use the name of a loved one so you know it will be my grandmal
As with everything by Blackbird Designs, the floss colors are just amazing.
This is another one I can’t wait to start stitching!
Back stitching on Santa’s Big Bouquet before I even think of starting something else.
