I’m not making fun of Vince but this did crack me up.
Yesterday I picked up a little jar and it looked like something was on the rim of the jar. I kinda scraped it with my nail and it was actually a chip in the glass. It flew off and I picked it up but I didn’t realize there was a little sliver of glass still on the floor and I stepped on it and my toe was bleeding. It was not a big cut – just a scratch but I asked Vince if he would get a bandaid so I didn’t have to walk across the bedroom carpet to get to the bathroom closet where the bandaids are kept. There are some downstairs too but . . carpeted stairs so Vince went to get the bandaid.
He was gone for what seemed like a long time and when he came back, he said “I couldn’t find any small ones” and handed me this one:
It was the toe next to the big toe! This bandaid is as wide as my whole foot!
Me: Hmm . . that’s a little big for this one toe. That’s the smallest one you could find?
Vince: Yes.
Me: Where did you look?
Vince: Where we keep bandaids!
Me: OK . . I’ll see what I can find.
As I started to walk towards the bedroom, Vince said “Where DO you keep bandaids?”
Vince has lived here 1-1/2 years. He opens this closet at least twice a week, probably every day. It’s our bathroom closet. I showed him where all this was when he got here.
I said “Come in the bathroom and I’ll show you!” He looked at it and said “Oh! I knew where all that stuff was in Texas but never knew where it was here.”
I shouldn’t be saying anything. There are so many things I look and look for and can’t find, then I’ll see them somewhere, and then when I need them again, I think . . I know I saw that somewhere but where!

Lord, help those who move once or twice in their golden years, especially if there is only one of you to recall where things end up. I can recall seeing where I kept things in the house where we lived for 30 years, and still have no idea where I put some things in the 15 months after move number two since the long-time residence. Weekly, I am searching high and low for “some thing.” I keep my iphone in my pocket so I am never looking for it. Glad your issue was a skin nick since you are already baby-ing a sore foot. Take care.

I’m the same way. I can remember exactly where the can of beans was in the pantry in Texas but don’t have any idea where a can of beans might be in the kitchen upstairs. About the time I started remembering where things were, all the extra things I don’t use every day went into the sun room and the things I use in the kitchen every day got spread around so I’m kinda starting all over with remembering . . which isn’t as easy as it once was.
