For those of you who read Jo’s Country Junction blog, you may have seen several of her posts about creations by Purple Hobbies. Heather, of Purple Hobbies, designs all kinds of helpful tools for the stitcher – cross stitcher, quilter, etc. She then 3D prints them which, of course, caught my attention because there have been several things I’ve thought of that would be helpful and tried to get Vince to print them. I told Heather . . I’ll just send you my ideas next time. She may think they’re crazy ideas but if she thinks they’re great, she can do whatever it takes to get them printed. There’s a process and it’s more than hitting “print” but that’s not even something I can think about .. way over my head!
I’m mostly using her pictures because my photos are always terrible but you know that! 🙂
When I saw this, I had to have it and purchased it before looking at anything else on her site.
This picture shows how the little cup is removed for easy access to the pins.
I have used magnetic bowls, and magnetic strips for pins and when I drop them or when something rubs up against them, they get scattered. This little pin cup has a very tight fitting lid and it is so perfect. I added some pins and dropped this on the carpet and the pins stayed in place. Yay! I truly could use a dozen of these! So worth the price! I definitely need one for the pins I use when framing. The one I bought is flower head pins.
Heather sent me several things that we thought would be useful for my cross stitching so the remainder of the items were sent to me for my review.
This little Stitch Tracker has a back and it’s all magnetized so it can be placed wherever needed and moved as needed. The outer lines can be used as a guide but I love it for using the center to kinda zone in on spots that have lots of stitches with color changes. Sometimes I have a hard time keeping up with where I am and where I’ve already stitches when using paper charts.
This needle minder is the best!
When I first started stitching, I bought more than a few cute needle minders that have a magnet on the back side of the front, then a pretty, sparkly little button looking magnet on the back. They all fit together nicely and kept the needle minder in place but . . the sparkly or the shiny back button was a problem with Boots, the cat! He would notice that from across the room and when I was trying to stitch, he was trying to grab that thing. He often did and not only was I was afraid he was going to swallow the magnet, but the needles would fall and I’d have to find them so I stopped using those.
Heather’s needle minder is not going to be easy for Boots or Oscar to remove. I doubt they’d even notice it.
Next to my stitching chair is a little three tier standing tray/cart. I’ve seen them at JoAnn’s but I can’t remember where I got this one. Look at the options with Heather’s needle minder!
I like keeping these right next to my chair and since there are two parts to these needle minders, it’s really two useful magnets.
Both could be used to make larger scissors more secure.
I need way more of these needle minders and will order at least half a dozen more of these.
Now . . for the discount code. If you decide you want to order any of these from Heather, you can use the discount code JudySentMe and receive a 20% discount on your order.

That thread cutter looked like a great time saver and would avoid accidentally snipping into the fabric or my finger.
