The other day on the Miss Babs’ Facebook knitting group, someone shared a photo of a Halloween shawl she had made. Since I love winter, even though I don’t love Halloween, to me, when Halloween rolls around, I know summer is behind us and life is about to slow down. It’s already started getting dark earlier, our chores are completed earlier, we’re in the house earlier, there’s more free time in the evening; it gets daylight lighter. With winter coming, we’ll be staying home more I just love winter and Halloween reminds me .. I survived another summer and winter is fixing to be here.
The shawl was green and purple and a black/orange combination. Thankfully, Miss Babs
Of course, I had to order the yarn. Thankfully the orange/black combo was in stock but the green and purple the knitter had used were out of stock but I think what I got is close. Those are actually two different purples. It doesn’t show up in the photo but the one on the right is a bit more red and the one on the left is a bit more blue. Either will work just fine. I only need one of them.
The pattern she had used is Festival of Stitches, which I happen to have. I think I’m going to make it!
It will be interesting to knit with Oscar but everything we do with Oscar around is interesting!
Will my shawl be finished by this Halloween? I wouldn’t bet on it but I am going to start it soon.

i love that pattern! It is in my favorites and in my queue on Ravelry. I have the yarn all bagged up and ready to go, but it is way down the list of things to do.

Knitting again – oh goodie. Haven’t picked up my needles in a while, but I have a closet full of shawls to cover every outfit I own, and many others made as gifts. I couldn’t find the Halloween shawl on Miss Bab’s FB but I will keep an eye out for it. Probably wouldn’t make one, but there’s always Christmas colors.

I’m the exact opposite of you. I rejoice when the days are getting longer and summer is on the way! I hate leaving the house in the dark to go to work, and coming home in the dark every evening. Blech! I’m a summertime girl all the way! I will be interested to see your shawl as you are working on it and when it’s done.

I have this pattern too. I know I’ve got yarn in my stash – may move it up on my ‘to do’ list.
