This is the first year I’ve planted potatoes in grow bags. I think I planted 65 potatoes. I planted them over about a month. I’d find more in the kitchen that were sprouting and then I ordered a few seed potatoes just to try different varieties. Some of them are starting to look pretty sad, which means they’re about done. I decided to dig around underneath one of the worst looking plants and see what I could find. Lots of potatoes! This is about one-third of what was under that one plant.
This could be the only plant that produced or they may all have two to three times this many potatoes. I won’t know til I start digging. I’m not going to get excited til I see what I have.
I’m not sure what’s going on with my bell peppers. I have never grown decent bell peppers but the last couple of weeks, I’ve been getting about about 20 per week.
I picked this earlier today. There are still lots of blossoms but even if these peppers stop producing now, I’ll be happy with what I got from them.
It’s so hot. Mostly every day through July 15, we have temps in the upper 90’s and some days several degrees over 100. Dreading that and I know my garden is going to suffer. Not much I can do about the weather!
