Sheri from Colorado Cross Stitcher mentioned skinny pillows from Under the Woolen Willow and I’ve ordered several. I knew they had a book out, Skinny Pillows, which I had been meaning to order but didn’t, til Sheri mentioned it on her latest Flosstube.
Under the Woolen Willow also sells “tops” for making the pillows. They’re pre-cut to the exact size for making these darling little pillows. I’m thinking I could make these as gifts for friends, for Addie’s teachers, and everyone else! 🙂
The top costs about $1.40 with shipping if you only order one package of them. I have lots of wool pieces for the wool applique. I have a huge bag of stuffing.
I had promised Addie a pillow for her dough bowl for all the seasons. I totally missed Easter . . just didn’t get it done. Now, Independence Day is almost here and I haven’t stitched anything. I think I’m going to make the Old Glory skinny pillow for Addie. She should like that.
You could really put anything on them – it doesn’t have to be just what’s shown.

The tops are $10.00 and I didn’t see a quantity mentioned so figured it was only one. That’s a high price when I could buy a yard of muslin and make at least four. Am I missing something?

The description on Etsy clearly states “10 tops tied together with a bow”. This is the sandcastle fabric, with a diagonal grid quilted design.
My blog post says “These tops cost about $1.40 each including shipping”.
But there’s certainly nothing wrong with using muslin. I’m sure plenty of people cut their own fabric and do it that way.
