I’m really pushing it . . sweet potatoes should have been planted at least a month ago. They’re supposed to be done in 120 days
It’s taken this long for the straw bales to cool down after conditioning. I’ll definitely start earlier next year but this year, it took a while to convince Vince to try this experiment with planting in straw bales.
I planted three plants in three bales and four plants in a fourth bale.
Our average first frost is October 21 so to get 120 days in . . wish me luck! 🙂

I tried sweet potatoes in NY a couple of times. The years that they did really well were also the years that the critters would snack on them too. Lol…I live in NC now and will have to try them again. Everything looks fantastic.

I wish I had these planted a month ago but we’ll see. For sure I wouldn’t get any if I didn’t plant them, right?

I have some slips that I need to plant. We don’t get frost here until January so I think I will be ok. This is the first time I am trying sweet potations.
