Some days I do not feel very smart. Yesterday was one of those days.
When I was looking at stoves, I read about every stove out there – some where priced reasonably, some were outrageously expensive. I wanted to know every possible feature about every single stove I could get because I figured (1) this is the last time I’ll ever buy a stove; (2) I cook enough that I figured, without breaking the bank, I was going to get everything I wanted; (3) for some reason, Vince was being very agreeable. When I mentioned a stove that was over $7,000 – he said “Get the one you want!” (I didn’t spend nearly that much). Also, even though we were getting a fridge, a dishwasher and a wall oven – the stove is what mattered most to me so I wanted to find the perfect stove, then get the matching fridge, dishwasher and wall oven.
There were many things about the Cafe gas range that I liked but I could have sworn I saw a griddle in the description. When the stove was finally delivered, the guys had to switch it from natural gas to propane so that took a while – changing out something on every burner. Towards the end of the process, I asked about the griddle. They said “No one told us about a griddle and we don’t have any extra parts.” I went back online and looked and never saw anything about a griddle so I figured it was another range that had the griddle and I was confused.
Yesterday I was looking for a lid to a piece of cast iron and I opened the drawer at the bottom of the oven. I had put some cast iron in there and as I moved things around, I said . . wait a minute! There’s a griddle.
I couldn’t believe it had been there all the time! I called Vince to come in and see what I had found. He said “Now we don’t need the Blackstone!” Yes we do. I can do way more on the Blackstone than I want to do on the kitchen stove. I made pancakes and bacon and may just leave it on the stove instead of the middle grate. I think I’ll cook some tuna steaks on it tonight. I wish the sides were higher, which would make it easier for turning things like potatoes but I’m not complaining . . at least I wasn’t wrong about thinking it came with a griddle.

So glad you found it! Sometimes we don’t see what is right before our eyes. I did send you a email also.
