You may remember that I’m trying to cross stitch a small pillow for Addie so she can have a nice collection of holiday smalls. I missed Easter but wanted to be sure I don’t miss Independence day.
I saw this adorable little truck called Freedom Truck on Pinker n Punkin’s blog. It’s a free little chart. I’m going to stitch it for Addie for Independence Day. Since it’s small and since I need to give it to her the first week in June because there’s a lot going on and I’m not sure how much I’ll see her later in the month. I’m going to stitch the truck the same color as Chad’s old pickup.
Pinker n Punkin have a whole collection of houses and they are all so cute. I want to stitch Sarah Jane’s 1776 Saltbox and I may do that for Cross Stitch Camp’s June project.
Here’s something funny. Yesterday I was printing the floss list for Freedom Truck and the printer just kept going and going. What should have been one page was already 7 or 8 pages so I stopped it. Later, Vince handed me the papers and I stuck them on the table next to my chair. When we got ready to go to Hobby Lobby, I grabbed a paper, took a picture of it and off we went. I had only taken a picture of the floss numbers and not the name of the chart. I picked up all that floss and I was thinking . . this does not look like the floss colors I need for Freedom Truck but I kept them. Who can’t use extra colors of DMC? I used my phone to find Freedom Truck and got those colors, along with the colors for Three Things Sampler.
When we got home, I looked at the stack of papers on the table and all the extra sheets were the floss numbers for Sarah Jane’s 1776 Saltbox. I had never even looked at that chart so I have no idea what wrong button I pushed but last night, I was thinking I’d make Freedom Truck for Addie for her Independence Day pillow and then I wasn’t sure what I’d stitch for Cross Stitch Camp but the June requirement is “something for a holiday”. As I was looking at more of Pinker N Punkin’s charts, when I saw the 1776 house again and thought . . I’ll make that for June. That’s when I realized I bought the floss for it yesterday . . without having a clue that I’d be stitching it in June.
How neat is that?
