It’s funny because I had already started this blog post. Vince came in and said “I’m leaving . . third time’s the charm!” I looked at the title I had written about 30 minutes ago and then edited the post to add this first.
Yesterday Vince took my car to the oil change/inspection place. It’s nice now because we don’t drive much and using synthetic oil, we get the oil changed once a year and if it’s the year for an inspection sticker, we get that done at the same time . . except Vince thought it was every year and told the guy he needed an oil change and inspection. After the guy scraped the old sticker off, he said “You didn’t need an inspection sticker this year!” He told Vince . . you can get by without having one. If you get stopped, just explain what happened. Vince said “You don’t know my wife. I’ll pay for an extra inspection!”
So, he took my car yesterday and had the oil changed and the inspection done. He had a 10 a.m. appointment to have the oil changed in his car but it didn’t need an inspection sticker. He had a 2 p.m. appointment to take the pickup back. It needs an inspection and an oil change. The Honda is going to need some transmission work soon but the guy said “Wait til it needs it” which means . . wait til it has to be towed in . . which means it better happen when Vince is in it by himself because I am already not happy about driving a 21 year old car!
OK . . my third time’s the charm . . this poor house on The Mighty Acorn.
I have ripped all the purple stitching out again! I don’t know if you can see where I ripped it out but I had all the way up to the windows on both sides and all the way up to the top on the left side and three rows across the very top, as well as both chimneys stitched.
I kept thinking . . this purple is so pale. It’s the color most of y’all liked best and it was my choice also.
I had wanted to add more purple in other areas so the house wasn’t the only purple so I stitched this leaf using a different purple and loved that color so I decided to change the house to that purple.
In the photo below, you can see the purple leaf more clearly but the purple looks too blue. The photo above is more accurate as far as color.
I’m done ripping. This is the color I’m sticking with. I don’t think my linen can take any more ripping.

Sorry, i didn’t catch it…which color are you doing the house? I don’t want purple but my called-for floss is sort of gold, which I’m not crazy about either…

Still purple – just a different shade.
