It is not unusual when we’re eating a meal and chatting that Vince will say something that makes me have to work to keep from choking on what I’m eating.
This morning we were talking about guys getting set up with a prostitute – not when they went out and made the decision to do that but it was really a setup. You don’t even want to know how we got on that conversation but here’s how it devolved:
Me: There are some guys, from what I think I know about them, I could see them falling for a setup like that but you . . I can’t imagine how you would ever get tricked into dealing with a prostitute.
Vince looked like he was really thinking about it and he said “Not unless she was a redhead!”
Huh?? I guess I should be thankful there are fewer redheads around than most other colors.

I love your posts but I can hardly read them because of the numerous ads that are plastered through and all over the posts. I have an ad blocker and it works on all other blogs I follow so I can only assume this is coming from your end. Any way you could tone it down? Would really appreciate it
judy.blog@gmail.com says
I will look into it but it’s been months since anything has changed.
glenda jensen says
It has been quite a while this has happening, I thought it was on my end so didn’t say anything.
Sibyl says
Are you looking on your phone or computer—I use Firefox as my internet browser, then I have 3-4 different ad blockers and I never have problems with ads–now if I use my phone–which is rarely for reading different blogs, then yes I do get ads. Just an fyi.
Carolyn says
That’s so funny! My husband says he knew I was the one because I’m a redhead…the first one he ever dated. After one date with me, he never looked back!

Every time I read your blog I hope you’re making a lot of money on those ads. One quarter of the screen is blocked by obnoxious videos and you have to go back to the home page sometimes after reading only one or two sentences after clicking on the post. I guess you get more clicks that way. It’s been a couple of months but I have to agree with Shelley.
judy.blog@gmail.com says
I can assure you that I do NOT make a lot of money on the blog! Considering the amount of time I spend photographing, editing, writing, it might be 50 cents per hour. But I do appreciate your hoping it’s more!
The ads are mainly intended to pay for hosting, a blog designer that fixes things that go wrong, the cost of MailChimp, as well as high speed internet, which is not inexpensive living out like we do but is necessary to upload the photos.
Kathleen says
Oh. So sorry. I just went to your contact page to send you a screen shot of your blog so you would understand what we are seeing. I read your message there and wish I could remove my post. Apologies. Please ignore.
judy.blog@gmail.com says
The message on my contact page is intended for those contacting me who want to advertise!

Love his comments! LOL

You two are so funny!! Thank you for sharing your laughs with us. Definitely entertaining!
As far as the ads go, if I try reading the blog on my phone, the ads are intrusive. If I’m using my tablet, laptop, or desktop, it’s fine.
judy.blog@gmail.com says
Not everything is optimized for the phone. I have the same trouble. I don’t even try to read it on the phone and it drives me crazy when I’m in the grocery store and want to look up a recipe – not only on my own blog but on other sites as well. That’s about the only time I do any “browsing” on my phone.
Sandi B says
Same here. I’m sorry for the grief you’re getting about the ads. I’m perfectly content with them to be able to share in your adventures!
Pamela Papazidis says
Totally agree. Your content far outweighs the minor inconvenience of the pop up ads.
Keep up your lively, entertaining, creative, educational, and oftentimes hilarious blogs.
MArzh says
I frequently read on my phone. It is easy enough to scroll through the ads and really not even “see” them. I think it is up to how one conditions themself. The only one that is more intrusive is the video that plays on top of everything. Even that I have learned to ignore pretty well.

Have you considered adding a paypal donation button? Some people who use ad blockers might be willing to pay a bit to help you defray the cost of everything….
judy.blog@gmail.com says
No. I don’t want to ask for money. I think it may be time for a little break from blogging and re-evaluate whether I want to continue or retire from blogging.
Teri says
OH No! Your blog is such a favorite of mine. Do hope you will continue.
Wendy says
Love your blog! It comes in here (Quebec) at 8 pm at night! So I read you every evening! Thank you but understand if you stop

I have been a follower since you had 2 houses simultaneously. Loved your quilt patterns and bought at least 2 books. And I had you sign a book in Paducah back in 2010. We were supposed to go to Paris but were grounding by the Volcano eruption in Iceland.
I also followed links when you posted about sourdough.
I do read through when you post about Addie – we are probably close in age, but grandchildren are a few years off (if ever), so I love those posts.
I hope you continue to post, I’ll continue to read, and will click through ads if something catches my eye.
Cross stitch ads just have no appeal. I did tons back in the 90s but I don’t enjoy it with needing magnifying glasses.
The ads make it a little difficult to read, but if it is a post I want to complete reading, I will navigate to the end,
Best,
JMF

I started this and certainly didn’t mean to discourage you. Please note I asked if you could TONE IT DOWN, not eliminate them. The video is the worst. You cannot delete it and it covers your post. The top and bottom ads you can reduce so you can read what you write. Recall that in floss tubes they are at the start and you can skip them after a few seconds. Also occasionally they are in the middle and again you can skip them. Could you consider something like that? I for one wouldn’t mind subscribing to your blog for a small fee. I really enjoy your posts. Hang in there!

Your blog makes me feel like I have had a visit with a good friend. Please don’t stop! I read every day and don’t let the ads bother me.
Nelle Coursey says
Now that is funny!!
Rebecca says
I am truly glad that I did not have anything in my mouth when I read this!
A redhead?
judy.blog@gmail.com says
The funny thing was that he thought about it a second . . like do I admit to this or not? I know he wouldn’t but it was funny to hear him say it.
