There was a pallet/bargain bin type store in Joplin and I had gone maybe three times with Vince. It closed for a while and then re-opened in another part of town but while it was closed, Vince heard about another pallet store in town so he went there and it was way larger, and gets in new merchandise.
For those who haven’t been to a pallet store/bargain bin store, they work differently but the one here puts new stuff out on Saturday morning, then closes at 1:30 p.m., reloads the bins, re-opens at 2 p.m.; then puts out new stuff again on Sunday morning. The merchandise is mostly returns /overstock from Amazon, maybe Target, Kohl’s and places like that.
Prices at this particular store are $7 on Saturday and Sunday, $5 on Monday, $4 on Tuesday, $3, on Wednesday, $2 on Thursday and either $1 or 50 cents on Friday.
Vince went on Saturday and there was quite a bit of Peet’s coffee for $7 for an 18 oz. bag. Vince wouldn’t pay that so he wanted to go back today when everything was $4 and see if there was any of it left.
He also got four bags of some kind of Italian coffee. I think he ended up with 18 or 20 bags of coffee. There were a few other things he got but his goal was to get coffee and . . coffee he got!
I found a few things too!
I was checking everything on the internet to be sure I was getting a good deal.
Top Row:
The little tin with the clips (the kind we use for sewing binding or thick things together) – there are 100 pins in there and the price was $4.
The foot peel masks are listed for $9.99 on Amazon though I did see one listing that had them for $6 so I figured I’d pay $4. Got two of those.
The cocoa butter sticks – I buy those at Walmart and in the past have paid a bit over $3 for them but lately they’ve been about $1.50 if I order them online. There was a bag of six of them for $4 so I bought those. I keep them in my purse, in the table by where I stitch, in the bathroom, in the bedroom .. I have those things nearby all the time.
Bottom Row:
The white blocks are 1 pound pieces of goats milk melt and pour soap base. Addie and I can melt it, add color and essential oil (or not), and pour it into molds. She’ll enjoy that.
The Simple hydrating gel cream is $5.90 for one tube at Amazon. I got three tubes in a sealed bag for $4.
The Neem soap is $8.84 at Amazon and, of course, it was $4 at the pallet store.
The Meliza foot softening cream is hard to find online but for $4, it was a great bargain.
It was a fun trip but I don’t want to do it again any time soon!
