Today is the day Addie and I have a girls’ day of shopping planned. The things I do for that girl – shopping! But things have changed and it will be a lot more tolerable.
She loves breakfast at Chick-Fil-A and they don’t have one but I told her . . if we eat breakfast out, we’re not going to want lunch. We talked about splitting a breakfast at Chick-Fil-A but the more we talked about what we were going to do during the day, the less I liked that idea.
Teacher Appreciation Gift:
I suggested a gift card or something small for every day next week. That’s how I did it with Chad’s teachers. Addie said that seemed like too much trouble (for her!). She only wants to do one thing and she wants it to be a Sonic gift card. Good grief, child – but she’s determined.
Mother’s Day:
She wants to get her mom a gift card from Hobby Lobby.
Clothes Shopping for Addie:
She decided that since there’s only four weeks of school left, she has plenty of clothes and would rather wait til right before school starts and go shopping. OK . . again, I tried.
Hibachi vs. Sushi:
I had told her we would go get sushi. She loves sushi and I do too but Vince doesn’t like it so I thought that was a perfect idea for the girls to go eat sushi. On the way home today, she said “I honestly prefer the hibachi restaurant!” Great! I do too! I told her Vince likes that place too so why don’t you and I shop and then we’ll have Vince meet us at the Hibachi restaurant? She agreed to that idea.
Starbucks:
Not a fan but again . . the things we do for grandkids. There’s a “pink drink” there and she’s sure I can duplicate it if I just try it so I told her we’d go by there and get ourselves a pink drink.
I do believe that aside from eating, we can do everything we have to do in less than an hour. We’ll see. She may think of more things she wants to do while we’re out.

Yes, they are! I think I was in my grandma’s eyes too and that’s one of my happiest memories.
