We have both been so super busy today! I was the first one up this morning .. well, second . . Oscar was up before I was and that’s why I was up very early. I went out for a walk with him. It wasn’t good daylight yet and it was cool and fairly quiet so we walked around the house a few times, then down our little road. I came back and got Rita, took her out and she only wants to do do what she has to do and then she’s ready to come back in where Oscar would stay out all day if I would let him. I fixed Oscar’s food, which is easy – dry puppy food. Rita’s food I have to mix two different foods – one homemade and one with a protein based dog food. Got her fed and sat down thinking I was going to cross stitch the entire day.
Vince got up and fixed his coffee, came back downstairs and we were talking. I asked him if he had ever bought any more sealing lids – similar to the Gamma Seal lids. We had several that were broken during the move and we had several that we had stacked in Texas that broke there. We hadn’t been storing a lot of stuff in buckets with lids but I ordered oats last month from Azure Standard and this month I ordered dried corn so I felt like we might need to add a few more Gamma Seal lids to replace the ones that had been broken.
Vince said he had not replaced them but Home Depot and Lowes carry a “Leaktite” brand that’s about the same and we could run get those. He asked if I wanted to go to town with him and get breakfast out. Nope, I didn’t want to do that. I told him I’d ride with him but I didn’t want to eat out. He checked online and then called the stores and there were not enough in Joplin or Carthage. He checked online and Home Depot in Pittsburg, KS was supposed to have 16 lids. We didn’t need that many but he called to be sure they had 6 and they did. I didn’t want him to drive all the way to Pittsburg by himself – it’s only about 30 miles but I knew he wouldn’t enjoy the drive so I went with him. We got there and he they did have what we needed. Vince asked the guy working in there about a good place to get breakfast. The guy recommend a place – he said “It doesn’t look so great but I’ve head the food is really good!” We got in the car and Vince said “Let’s go by there and if you don’t like the way it looks, we don’t have to eat there.” It looked fine to me and the food was really good!
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. You can get what you want any time! They had so much variety and so many possible combinations. I kept asking for more time to make up my mind what I wanted! I ended up getting an omelette with gyro meat and feta cheese. It came with all kinds of options. I chose hash browns and biscuits and gravy. I would definitely go back there again.
We came home, unloaded the car. Vince went to the storage building . . I think he was looking for something and I don’t even know if he found it or not. I washed a load of clothes, got them hung out on the line, did the next steps on the bread I needed to get made today. Then I went out and watered the garden, moved some rocks that had been in a bucket of dirt I dumped, did a few more things outside, went back in and finished the bread. Then it was time to bring the clothes in.
Vince has a little small garden tiller and he tilled around the lilacs, a front bed and a few trees, and added fertilizer and mulch. They all look so nice.
I did spend a bit of time organizing the cross stitching but that’s a post for tomorrow.
It was nice to get a lot done today but we’re both tired.

I need a busy day like you! No garden yet…we were expecting snow sometime today but I never saw it. We’re under a freeze warming for tonight, so wouldn’t dare plant anything yet. I need one productive day like yours today and I’d be good!! 🙂 Wish me luck! 🙂
