Yesterday Vince and I spent almost the entire day outside. He worked on several projects while I planted. I almost waited til dark to take pictures.
There are 11 tomatoes planted. There are four buckets that are still empty. I may pick up four more tomatoes and plant those. Can’t have too many tomatoes, right?
Vince asked why I planted a flower in one of the buckets. I told him tomatoes are girls and they like pretty flowers. 🙂
I planted two buckets of spearmint, one bucket of dill, one bucket that had two parsley plants. That’s a total of 16 buckets planted, four not planted for a total of 20.
The sugar snap peas will be done by the time the peppers are getting big so I planted some peppers in with the peas. I put tomato cages over the peppers so the peas can climb on those and not choke the peppers.
This bed has six jalapeno peppers and three eggplants.
The ramps are wimpy and I don’t see them taking off and doing much between now and fall so I stuck some peppers in with them. Too much to plant; not enough space so I have to stick things anywhere I can find a spot.
The dianthus are for planting in the front bed. There are six brussels sprouts that I’ll plant in grow bags.
I didn’t get the hanging baskets repotted so I still have to do that. I have more parsley, cilantro, basil and rosemary left to plan. I’m going to plant those in pots I can hope to bring into the garage during the winter and have those herbs all year. We’ll see how that goes. Never know til you try, right?
I’m almost done planting but it’s only because I’m out of space! 🙂

That’s a lot of planting for someone who thought they wouldn’t have a garden after moving from Texas. So nice to see growing things and flowers since your season is so far ahead of ours. After snow on the weekend, followed by mostly rain this week, the temps warmed up a bit and tulips are starting to pop thru the soil so I think spring is finally here. Today I think I could stand outside and actually watch those tulips grow – its not even 10AM and it’s already 65 – going to be an exceptionally warm day today before temps drop again.

Tulips are blooming here too but the wind tonight and tomorrow will probably shred them. It was 82 here yesterday!

Marigolds also help ward off all those pesky bugs you don’t want around your tomatoes!! Smart lady!

I think you should get a couple of Greenstalk planters!

I haven’t really found anything I grow that I think would work better in those. Strawberries probably would but I have them planted in a raised bed.
