This is probably one of those times when you had to be here for it to be so funny.
Every morning we sit and play with Oscar. We throw his toys and he fetches and it wears him down and he’ll take a good, long nap. Because I don’t want him jumping on the furniture, til he’s old enough to learn that isn’t allowed, we’ve stacked things on the sofa so he can’t get up there. He’s been too little to get up there . . til today.
There was a stack of clean towels and washclothes on the sofa and he was able to grab the edge of a washcloth and get it so Vince took it away from him and handed it to me. I tossed it over onto the table and I didn’t throw it quite hard enough so it fell and Oscar grabbed it again. He always thinks we’re playing chase with him when we try to take something away from him so it took a while but Vince got it again and handed it to me. I rolled it up so it would go farther and threw it back towards the table and it went over the back side so Oscar again grabbed it and ran. Vince got it back and said “I’m not giving it to you this time!” Vince threw it up on the back of the sofa and it went over. We were both cracking up that neither of us could put it where Oscar couldn’t get it. We were down on the floor playing with him so getting up wasn’t easy for either of us. Vince got it again. By now, I had tears rolling down my face from laughing so hard. Vince threw it and it landed in a clothes basket on top of the sofa. Safe!
Oscar ran, jumped on the sofa, made it up the first try, got it out of the clothes basket, jumped down and started running like he’d just made a home run. We could not stop laughing.
I guess now it’s time to take everything off the sofa that I had been using to block him and work n teaching him that he is not allowed on furniture.

Thank you SO much for your blog posts about Oscar & the washcloth and the dog treat you ate. I was laughing SO hard my husband came in twice to see what was so darned funny!! You have a terrific way of describing the situation and it was like I was right there in the room watching it from reading your posts. Oscar hit the jackpot for his new family, that’s for sure.
