Dishwasher Repairman

The dishwasher repairman is supposed to be here about 7:30 a.m., for the third time since we bought it in when . . October?? November?? I could go back and look on the blog but it doesn’t matter. It hasn’t been that long. I know the floor issue wasn’t the dishwasher’s fault but I can tell you, I am not happy with this dishwasher. I love the stove and the fridge but not the dishwasher. I suppose if he can’t fix it this time, Vince is going to start making noise about having it replaced. I’m not sure how many times they work on things before they throw in the towel and say it’s a lemon.

I think we could have bought a much less expensive model and had better luck but I wanted everything to match. We still don’t have the wall oven – July is the target date last I heard but that’s the first date they gave us and I doubt it will happen then.

If I knew then what I know now, I would probably have just replaced the stove and kept everything else til it broke. The appliances in the house were 17 years old and the dishwasher wasn’t drying the dishes but heck, it dried them better than the new one does and that’s not even why we keep having the repairman out here. It makes a rather loud popping sound and it does it about 200 times during the cycle. I think I’ve finally figured out what’s causing the sound. There’s a little cheap plastic “wand” that connects at the back of the top shelf (well, there are three shelves but the very top rack is just for knives and very flat things . . so I’m calling the top shelf the one where you put the glasses). That little wand goes back and forth kinda like a windshield wiper but just across the very middle section and when it hits the left side, it pops; then it goes to the right side and when it hits that side, it pops, then it goes back to the left side and keeps on the entire cycle.

The dishwasher is about 4′ from the opening to the living room and it is obnoxiously loud in the living room.

I’m anxious to hear what the repairman says and if my theory is correct.
