Finally, I have rhubarb growing!
When we lived in MO previously, I kept wanting a bed where I could plant rhubarb and we never got around to making it. Then in Texas, it was too hot for it to grow there.
I have a few plants that I planted last year. There’s more rhubarb on the way to me so I’ll get that planted and though I probably won’t get much this year, there’s always next year.
I can look at that plant and almost taste a strawberry rhubarb pie.
I also planted ramps yesterday. They arrived on the day I left and they don’t look so great after spending four days in the box so I’m hoping they survive.

What is it you planted yesterday? We are forecast to still get below 30 at night. Enjoy watching your gardening!

Ramps. They’re fine in the cold. I won’t plant anything tender til after the first of May.

No planting going on around here. It was 12 degrees this morning when I got up. Brrrr….

Ramps? Rhubarb plantings? I’d never heard that. Rhubarb is a favorite that I grew up eating. Rhubarb pies are always requested at the Mennonite Relief Sale. We mixed mulberries with, rather than strawberries.

The rhubarb that’s coming up now is some I planted last year. I do have more rhubarb coming that I’ll add to the bed. Ramps are a bit hard to transplant and this probably isn’t the best time to do it and I probably don’t have them in the best location but we’ll see how they do.
