Road Trip

Thursday night Addie had a school program so afterwards, she and Nicole drove to our house and spent the night. Yesterday morning, Nicole, Addie and I got up at 4:30 a.m., got dressed and were on the road at 5:10 a.m.

We stopped as little as possible – gas, bathroom and food breaks was it. Nicole drove the entire way. She was using GPS and I can’t remember where it was – after Broken Arrow, OK maybe but she said “GPS has never brought me this way before.”

I was so happy – it took us through Jasper, Texas so we did take a two block detour and showed Addie the house where her dad lived when he was 2 – 4 years old. My cousin works for a bank in Jasper so I texted her and said “passing by your bank!” She texted me back and said “You didn’t stop!!”

She called last night and we talked for what seemed like forever.

Also, my neighbor from Brownwood has moved and lives just 10 minutes from where we were passing so I texted her and she wanted us to stop by but we didn’t have time. I promised her I would stop and visit with her on my next trip.

There are a couple of places we love to eat when in Lake Charles. Nicole loves Tony’s Pizza so we got food to go from there tonight. The food in Lake Charles is so good . . the traffic is so bad.
