Yesterday I received the horseradish and ginger roots I had ordered from Etsy.
Tomorrow Addie and I will plant it. I hope I can grow horseradish root that big!
Today one box of seed potatoes I ordered arrived. If the potatoes I planted make a halfway decent crop, we’re going to have lots of potatoes to share. The ones that came today are indeterminate – German Butterball. Doesn’t that sound delicious?
I think I have 5 bags of potatoes planted and probably 6 more bags to plant. At some point Vince is going to say “ENOUGH!” 🙂

German Butterball potatoes are awesome, the only one I like more is Yellow Finn and the seem to be just about impossible to find. Happy potato growing!!

Do you have an Asian market by you? A neighbor was from Hong Kong and we would go to the local Asian market. It was great since she would tell me what to buy,or not. Mom loved to go there and try new things.
I would get great ginger roots as well as lemon grass that I would plant – my friend taught me to know which bunches would be good for sprouting. It was nice to get big bunches of baby bok choy, white radishes, as well as great cuts of meat and fish. They actually had fresh grouper!!! The last time I was there, the fishmongers were Asian and the butchers were Hispanic which reflected the changes in the area.
I do need to go there again, but I miss my neighbor who moved to Houston to be closer to grandkids… sounds familiar. If you want some lemongrass to plant, let me know. I can get a bunch or two and ship it to you.

and…. lemongrass is great in a container since it a nice flowing plant and some think that it is good as a mosquito repellent. Check it out on the web…
