Remember last week I received a package that had been torn during the mail.
Obviously it got caught in some kind of machine.
I can see how this could happen. The shop gave me a refund, even though it wasn’t their fault.
It wasn’t easy to find another one of those charts but I did, and they had Barb’s Blend so I ordered a half yard of the linen so the chart wouldn’t have to travel alone because we all decided that wasn’t safe. I guess I should have ordered more. The half yard of linen didn’t make the trip any safer for the chart. That package has totally disappeared. It was “Out for Delivery”. It never arrived but continued to say “Out for Delivery” for a couple of days. I called the post office this morning and they don’t have a clue. It obviously arrived at our post office. Maybe it got left at the post office and we’ll find it! Maybe it got delivered to the wrong address and someone will return it.
That is the post office’s fault. There was no insurance. This time, instead of $20 package, it’s an $80 package . . with no insurance.
I give up. Not ordering this pattern for a third time!

If it was shipped Priority, it automatically is insured. You probably know that though.

Yes, I knew that and no, not shipped priority. It’s getting ridiculous how hard it is to get mail here. Just seeing how much mail we get that isn’t hours makes me surprised when we do get something. When I called the post office this morning, I talked to someone who wasn’t the postmaster. She said she would check on it and call me back. Didn’t happen. I called her back after two hours and she wasn’t in but she did call me back. She said she talked to the carrier, who didn’t remember the package but said she would check other boxes on her route. When the mail carrier came by, Vince asked her about it and she acted like that was the first time she had heard about a missing package.
I know there are great post offices. Brownwood was probably the best we’ve ever had so I don’t want anyone to think I’m complaining about the entire postal service. I can’t even imagine how they do all they do but, dang it . . don’t eat or lose my charts and linen! That stuff is hard to get!

Wow! Bummer!!! I just don’t understand the post office anymore. I had a package sent from Alaska back in November that never came. Let the guy know it didn’t come, so he sent another. It was here in 4 days – from Alaska to Pennsylvania. The P.O. generally have trouble getting something from PA to NC in 4 days… I just don’t understand….

That’s why I say I don’t even know how they do what they do. There was a package the other day that came from Dallas in two days. Other times a package from Tulsa, shipped the exact same way, will take 7 days to get here. Again, I know their success rate is probably amazingly high but it’s so frustrating when things don’t go as they’re supposed to.

I had this happen to me. My next door neighbor was away and having her mail held at the PO. Turns out that my package got put in with her held mail. As we frequently have mis-delivered mail on our court, I asked them to check her held mail. They found my package and sent out a truck to deliver that night.

I understand that things like that happen but since this is the chart that got torn and the envelope that had 1/3 of it missing was just stuck in my mail box with no note or anything, then I re-order and the second one disappeared . . I’m frustrated .. probably more than I should be.

What is the name of the chart? It is beautiful!

A Tisket, A Tasket by Rosewood Manor. There are a couple other “A Tisket, A Tasket” charts out there so be careful. This one is a bit hard to find right now but it’s new so it should be easier to get soon.

Judy, I have that pattern and I plan to start it first (have to finish my EPP quilt first–almost there!)…I’d be happy to send it to you when I’m done! Would you please tell me what brand of linen “Barb’s Blend” is? I’m so ignorant about linen. I know you like Xju’s linen best, but where do you buy your linen? Thanks!
judy.blog@gmail.com says
Barb’s Blend is R & R. I’ll do a blog post about my favorite places.
judy.blog@gmail.com says
Thanks. That’s very nice. I’ll probably find it in person somewhere eventually and buy it.
