The rug pads arrived so I was able to get the new stitchy spot set up. The reasons I’m excited about this seem a bit trivial but they’re important to me.
All the way across the room is the spot where I had been stitching. None of the “problems” with that spot were really problems but I think the new spot is going to be so much better.
** You can’t see Vince’s chair in the above photo. It’s way to the left of the chair that’s kinda in the middle. When my magnifying light was on, it was in his face so I had to keep a towel draped over it and that was a bit inconvenient.
The above photo is from when the house was for sale. the sofa in the far corner is where the chair shown in the photo above sits.
** To go from my chair to the kitchen, because we had three recliners and two end tables lined up against that wall with the opening, along with the “fence” to keep Rita off the carpet, I had to walk through the living room, around the stairs and down the hall to get to the kitchen or laundry room.
Now, I will be just feet from the kitchen and laundry room. A lot of the time when I’m stitching or sitting and knitting, I’m also cooking, doing laundry, etc.
**It will be much easier picking up needles and thread off the rather dense rug and hardwood floor than from the lofty carpet.
There’s my little spot. The magnifying lamp is kinda between my chair and the chair in the living room. I’ll end up moving that chair a little to the left and I can use the magnifying lamp at either chair. If I have a friend over, I can bring up the other magnifying lamp from downstairs and turn the other recliner around so we can both stitch and visit.
With the lamp beside the chair, I can also sit there and knit. By the way, that is not the base that goes with that lamp shade. Right now, I have four lamp bases and four shades and none of them go together. I can’t figure it out! Vince said there are more lamp bases in the shop. For now, I’ll use what I have and figure it out later.
I think it’s a perfect setup.
The breakfast room always seemed out of proportion with just our square table in there so I think it looks way more “livable” and usable now.

That really is the perfect set up! I also love the storage space for your project bags at the bottom of the side table!

Me too! There were a couple of tables I could have grabbed but I thought that one was perfect, especially since Oscar won’t be near it to shred all the project bags.

I like it also! I need that cover you have on the recliners! If I drop a needle it goes straight into the guts of the recliner! Did you mention where you found those?

I looked back through the blog and through my Amazon orders and can’t find where I ordered them. I’ll keep looking.
